EASTER BABY CLINIC FOR WORKING MUMS

A fun morning was had and enjoyed by babes and mums
The pictures will show all.
The prize for the EASTER BONNET was shared by a little boy
with Bunny Ears, who kept us entertained with his antics and winning smile.
Our little princess in her Easter Crown and special dress won the nod from the judges.
Well done mums! your introduction to Fancy Dress!
Three talks were given:
Sally & Kim from DIZZY DOTS donated the prize for pass the parcel. Sally explained how the Bababags work.

Liesel gave a talk on Baby Skin care, which was informative & provided the Prize for the Easter Bonnet.

Carola Schoonheim & Sister Virginia gave an Insight into CROUP.

A yummy Easter tea & cake & sandwiches were enjoyed
Babes went home with bunny gifties
The babes & mums then had a short consult with Sister Virginia
The Next Special Saturday will be 17th May 2014 at 10:00

Saturday 15th March 2014 marked our second working Mums Baby Clinic.
Everyone had lots of fun. The babes were weighed and measured, all had grown.
Questions re food intake, what to give when, milestones etc were discussed.
TEA: A Victoria Sponge with jam & cream. Egg sandwiches, Tea, Coffee & Juice were served
Then we had baby fun time...
PASS THE PARCEL made from tissue paper with prizes with each babe unwrapping. All for the babes to pull, tear, rip and listen to the paper noise and get used to a new feel.
The main prize was a R150 breakfast voucher from Darios won by Carmen and Luke. Thank you Dario & Rossella
We also played HOT CROSS BUNS HOT CROSS BUNS One a penny two a penny Hot cross Buns. Singing is SO important for the little ones
THE TALKS: We had one by Bio Oil, with lots of nutritional input. Thank you Cecelia for the wonderful HAMPER donated by BIO OIL. The lucky winner Bianca & Leo.
WORMS: This had strong vocal opposition from the babes. The aim of the talk was to get everyone to understand the importance of deworming 2 & 4 legged beings. How to control the environment and understanding the life cycle of the flea. The pamphlets and extra info were supplied by Dr Brendan Brady from Penzance Veterinary Clinic.
THANK YOU DR BRENDAN. Some literature will be coming to those who attended to help folk remember.

NEXT SPECIAL SATURDAY WILL BE THE 12TH APRIL (SECOND SATURDAY DUE TO ALL THE HOLIDAYS.)
THIS WILL HAVE AN EASTER TOUCH AND ALL THE BABES ARE ASKED TO COME WITH AN EASTER BONNET. WITH A PRIZE FOR THE BEST BONNET

The next WORKING MUMS “Special Saturday Clinic” is this Saturday, 15th March 2014.

Here is the programme and what is up for grabs.

10:00 Gathering, Measuring, short consult. Accompanied by tea and refreshments. I can’t guarantee the red velvets again but will make sure there’s something tasty and naughty. Plus the sensible.
11:00 Fun Time with Mums & Babes. Which involves activities with music and games

TO BE FOLLOWED BY:
A TALK ON BIO OIL with an amazing hamper for a lucky number
A TALK ON WORMS!!!! THE IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING THE MANAGEMENT OF WORMS IN ADULTS & CHILDREN. Yes the family 2 legged and the 4 legged. Information from PENZANCE VETERINARY CLINIC
ALL talks will have literature for hand outs.

Booking is essential and I need confirmation and payment by Tues this week for Saturday Baby Clinic. I am sure you all realize there will be catering arrangements as well as administrative tasks to make the morning fun and educational. The cost is R180. For those with medical aids an account, so your app can be claimed, can be given please let me know when you book.
I look forward to the first of these mornings, which essentially have been designed to help the working mums :)

As requested by some and now planned and put into action by me
SATURDAY 15TH Thats next Saturday Working Mums Baby Clinic is having the first of these Saturdays which will be held on this and the third Sat of every month.

The programme will be as follows,
•10am Meet & Greet short consult with me for weigh etc
•This will be followed with Tea coffee juice and something nice to eat
•Then Mum & Babe fun time
•A TALK on Fever, how to deal with it, what it means, how to treat it and more
•A talk by Carola Schoonheim, qualified physiotherapist will be given a talk on tissuesalt. She has trained among other disciplines as a tissuesalt consultant.As a women's health practitioner she would like to give the talk on the use of tissuesalt for babies.

The talk will be held at Virginia's babyclinic at 59 Milner Road, Hout Bay. Saturday 15 Feb 2014.

This years Baby Massage Review was held at Best Buddies, Hout Bay on Saturday, 7 December 2013 and hosted by Sister Virginia Johnson, who has an international qualification in infant massage instruction and is a member of the SA chapter.
This time the dads got to join in, it is good for the dads to learn the techniques, which promotes bonding and communication, both fun and relaxing for babe and parent.
A big thank you to Angie from Best Buddies for the venue and Jenny Muggs for helping with the teas and treats.
