It’s important to acknowledge their feelings and equip them with tools to manage stress. Here are a few ways to help children regulate and find their calm:

Feeling stressed or overwhelmed? Try the Butterfly Hug! This simple technique is a form of self-soothing that can help you feel calm and grounded.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Cross your arms over your chest, so your fingertips rest just below your collarbones.
Imagine your arms are butterfly wings, with your hands resting gently on your shoulders.

2. Slowly and gently tap your hands one after the other—left, right, left, right—like a butterfly’s wings flapping.

3. Breathe deeply as you continue tapping, focusing on the rhythm and your breath.
