Some days in paeds OT feel exactly like this 🔥

Imperfect. Chaotic. Completely unscripted.Demanding. Intense.

But here’s the thing — I’m stretching.
And I’m actually enjoying the challenge.

Moments like these remind me why *evidence-based practice* matters.
When things feel chaotic, we anchor back to what research tells us works, layer it with clinical reasoning, and adapt it to the child in front of us.

Growth doesn’t always feel calm — sometimes it looks like sitting in the fire, staying curious, and trusting the process,*EVEN* one slightly-on-fire moment at a time 💛🔥

This one is close to my heart 💜

This will be a first for Rea the OT, and I’m so excited to share it with you.

I’ll be on YOU FM’s Midday Boost this Tuesday at 13:10, chatting about wellbeing, daily life, and showing up as your best self — one occupation at a time ✨

We are officially OPEN 🎉 Rea the OT is here to support children and teens with emotional regulation, sensory challenges, learning difficulties, and life skills for everyday success. Whether your child struggles with big feelings, school routines, or confidence — they don’t have to do it alone.

Rea the OT has been quietly cooking behind the scenes… 👩🏽‍🍳✨

After a season of growth, reflection, and exciting new opportunities, I’m so happy to finally share that from next year, Rea the OT will be joining the wonderful team at the Psychology & Wellness Centre in Bryanston 🤍

This new chapter means working within a multidisciplinary space that truly values holistic, child-centred care — supporting little ones not just in their skills, but in who they are.
Same heart. Same passion for paediatric OT.

Just a new space to grow, collaborate, and serve 🌱

I’m deeply grateful for every family, child, and professional who has been part of the journey so far. I can’t wait to continue this work alongside an incredible team.

Here’s to what’s next ✨

Story time....

Somewhere along this difficult, busy, stretching year, this teen and I built this unexpected little bond where he checks up on my daily step count like it’s part of his personal job description.

And honestly? On the days when my health challenges made everything feel heavier, he was the one who kept me going.

This gentle giant of a child — caring, consistent, and so full of quiet purpose — has reminded me that even in seasons where I feel depleted, connection still finds a way to pour back into me.
It’s been a tough year… but moments like this remind me why I love what I do. Grateful for the little humans who unknowingly keep us going. 💛✨

🚲 “Today I rode a bicycle for the first time in over a decade… and it got me thinking.”

Balance. Coordination. Sequencing. Confidence.
Every pedal, every wobble, every adjustment — it’s all about integrating mind and body to move forward.

It reminded me so much of what we work on in Occupational Therapy every day — helping little ones find their rhythm, regain balance, and build confidence to keep going, even when things feel a little shaky at first.

Because just like riding a bike, growth takes practice, patience, and persistence. 🌈💪

💛 Celebrating World OT Day! 💛

Every story we see as occupational therapists is unique — whether it’s a child learning to tie their shoes, a little one finding new ways to play, or a tween discovering confidence in the classroom or a teen gaining renewed insight. These everyday moments remind us why we do what we do.

At Rea the OT, we are honoured to walk alongside children and families as they grow, adapt, and thrive. Today, we celebrate passion, purpose, and progress — the guiding principles of occupational therapy that help transform lives, one meaningful step at a time. 🌟

💚 World Mental Health Day 2025 | Rea the OT 💚

Mental health starts with the small things — safety, connection, and being understood.
As paediatric OTs, we see daily how emotional regulation and sensory needs shape wellbeing.

🌿 Simple reminders for today:
🧸 Keep routines safe and consistent
💬 Talk about feelings openly
💪 Focus on connection, not perfection
🤍 Every moment of co-regulation counts

Because mentally healthy children learn, play, and connect better — and so do we 💚
