Today, on the International Day of Care and Support, we celebrate the compassion and commitment of caregivers everywhere.

The 2025 theme, “Care and Support for All,” reminds us that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves.

At Isisa Home Care, we support our carers through ongoing training, on-the-job clinical guidance, and encouragement to prioritise personal well-being. Because when carers thrive, those in their care do too. 💙

Here are some self-care reminders for all caregivers:
✨ Accept and ask for help
✨ Set realistic goals
✨ Prioritise your health
✨ Stay socially connected
✨ Educate yourself
✨ Take breaks and practice self-compassion
✨ Stay organised

Let’s make caring sustainable — for everyone.

At Isisa Home Care, we understand the importance of focusing on what a person with Alzheimer’s still has, rather than what may have been lost. We concentrate on what they feel, not just what they remember, because their world may be very different from ours.

If you notice symptoms such as memory loss, confusion, changes in behaviour, or difficulty with daily activities, our trained caregivers are here to help. From bathing and grooming to mealtime assistance and adapted activities, we provide compassionate everyday care while managing changes in behaviour and communication — all while taking care of themselves too.

Every act of patience, understanding, and kindness reminds us that no one has to face this journey alone.

This week, South Africa observes National Kidney Awareness Week – a time to shine a light on the importance of kidney health. Our kidneys quietly work every day to keep our bodies in balance, filtering waste and regulating vital functions. Yet, kidney disease often goes unnoticed until it’s advanced. By understanding the risks, making healthier lifestyle choices, and getting regular check-ups, we can protect these vital organs and improve long-term health outcomes.

At Isisa Home Care, we understand the challenges patients and families face when managing chronic conditions. That’s why we’re here to provide compassionate, professional care in the comfort of your home — supporting recovery, treatment, and quality of life.

This week, let’s protect our kidneys, support our loved ones, and take steps toward healthier living — together. 💙

From 15 August to 15 October, South Africa shines a light on Bone Marrow Stem Cell Donation and Leukaemia Awareness. 💙

Leukaemia affects the bone marrow, where abnormal white blood cells crowd out healthy ones, weakening the immune system. One of the most effective treatments is a stem cell transplant, which replaces diseased cells with healthy donated ones.

At Isisa Home Care, we walk alongside patients and their families, providing comprehensive care and ongoing support through every stage of treatment and recovery.
