Przysadka mózgowa, choć waży mniej niż gram, odgrywa kluczową rolę w funkcjonowaniu całego organizmu.
Choroby przysadki, w tym guzy hormonalnie czynne i nieczynne, mogą prowadzić do poważnych zaburzeń osi HPA – układu łączącego podwzgórze, przysadkę i nadnercza. Nieleczone lub zdiagnozowane zbyt późno, skutkują trwałymi konsekwencjami zdrowotnymi m.in. zaburzeniami hormonalnymi, metabolicznymi, kardiologicznymi, neurologicznymi.

Często zanim choroba zostanie wykryta, mijają lata, dlatego, szczególnie w tym miesiącu, chcemy podkreślać jak ważna jest szybka i wczesna diagnostyka.
Apelujemy do lekarzy pierwszego kontaktu: bądźcie czujni na wczesne objawy chorób przysadki – ich szybkie rozpoznanie może uratować zdrowie i życie pacjentów. 🧠💙

Primary hyperparathyroidism was first described in the 1930s. Patients had high calcium and severe bone/kidney complications. Since the 1970s we measure calcium routinely on blood tests and discover this disease much earlier! This led to the term "asymptomatic" primary hyperparathyroidism because the first way the disease was detected was on routine blood tests.
