Melkbosstrand Community The Fellows for Cancer Trust was established in July 2009. In November 2010 we sadly lost Dirkie Schlechter - the leader of the pack.

The objective of the trust is to support and assist members of our local community with a need for cancer treatment and who are unable to afford it. Often medical aid companies do not cover the huge expenses or individuals are unable to upgrade their scheme during the course of the year, thus facing huge financial strain. With five members of this trust we are endeavouring to support those in need and we hope to make a difference! Dirkie was diagnosed with Melanoma in January 2006 and fought his battle against cancer for five years. As a member of this trust he was committed to the upliftment of the community and helping to grow this trust so that we can better assist those in need. The Fellows for Cancer is privileged to have had this remarkable man as the leading-force in the inception of the trust. SHOULD YOU WISH TO MAKE A DONATION,
