"The Evolution of Coral"
My musical journey began at the age of 13, alongside my remarkable mother. We were quite the dynamic duo, traveling together, setting up music gear, and creating beautiful melodies.
I started as a guest artist, singing a couple of songs at her performances. By the time I turned 15, I was doing acoustic opening sets at various venues, and our "Mother-Daughter Duets" became a crowd favourite. We performed at all kind of different places like clubs, RSA's, pubs, and even house parties!
It was an incredibly fun way to grow up. I'd attend school during the week, and then off we'd go on our next adventure.
My mum, Emmeline, could do it all! From impersonating legends like Cher, Tina Turner, and Abba to rocking a four-hour gig that had everyone on their feet dancing – she was and is a true entertainer.
While most kids grew up listening to albums of their favourite artists, I had the privilege of hearing my mum practice and perform songs by "the greats."
Mum is an incredibly talented singer, songwriter, and entertainer, and I continue to learn so much from her.
Together, we've written countless songs, and many of the tracks on my first album are co-written with her.
I'd like to take a moment to honour my mother, the woman who gave me life and has been my biggest cheerleader.
