Embrace recently opened applications for the fourth cohort of the Mamandla Fellowship. Founded in 2019, the Mamandla Fellowship provides an opportunity to harness the collective efforts of our work and passions for the good of all mothers, and to leverage the power of our diverse experiences through a network of relationships.
We invite community-minded activists and leaders to apply for this opportunity to
deepen their passion for supporting mothers,
upskill themselves as leaders and advocates for motherhood issues, and
build strategic links with other like-minded people.
Selected fellows can expect the following:
Lifelong membership in a network of activists who are working to improve the lives of mothers of South Africa
A year-long fellowship programme in which Embrace will offer support and community, and an opportunity to make use of a wide range of change-making tools and platforms for the benefit of their community of mothers
Access to a variety of in-person and online masterclasses and community-building opportunities
Local and national communities of Mamandla fellows with whom you can meet up in person throughout the fellowship programme and beyond.
Traditionally, most fellows have come from the provinces in which Embrace has significant representation on the ground (KZN, Gauteng and the Western Cape). We would like to reach activists in other provinces so we can expand our national reach and get a richer sense of the issues that mothers across the country are tackling. We ask that you forward the following link - https://www.embrace.org.za/mamandla/ - to your networks and encourage those who may fit the above description to apply. Applications close on Monday, 17 April.
Should you have any questions or need anything clarified, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Thanks,
Rumbi
