Lily (77) had a widespread disturbance of nerve pathways. All her problems were ascribed to old age and a missing disc between two lumbar vertebrae in her spine. Her whole body was hypersensitive, she had lower back pain, cramping in one thigh, calf and foot, restless legs at night, pins…

The effect of BSR is to improve the communication between the brain and the cells of the body, thereby assisting the body to restore normal function. Over the years we have observed how this is an ongoing process and thus the technique practices the following guidelines with regards to sessions:

Three Initial sessions are needed to experience the full benefit of BSR.

1) Intensive Phase – Essential / Required
Day 1, Day 4, (possibly Day 7) and Day 11
This is to address the immediate reason for attending BSR – Pain, discomfort, postural distortion, headaches, emotional stress etc.

2) Subsequent Phase - Recommended
Once every week or every second week (depending on individual case requirements)
This Phase is to continue unlocking stored tension / body stress at deeper levels as the body returns to an optimal state of well-being.

3) Maintenance Phase – Your commitment to your health and well-being
Once every 3 weeks, monthly or every 6 weeks
On-going health maintenance – Most people honour the principle of prevention when it comes to their car, ensuring that it is serviced on a regular basis. We would be wise to give our bodies the same consideration and attend regular sessions of BSR to assist the body in maintaining optimal health.

Our bodies are incredible. They are designed to self-heal. Think how the skins closes over a small cut. This is self-healing. Body Stress Release helps your body to self-heal. Just like a small cut, sometimes the body cannot heal on its own and needs a little bit of support.

This is where BSR comes in. BSR practitioners do not crunch you back into place. Nothing is forced. Practitioners simply release tension which is stored in your muscles to support your body's natural self-healing ability.

The Body Stress Release technique may help to relieve pressure on nerves. The BSR practitioner will test for tight muscles along the spinal column and then release the tension through a unique method.

Did you know that Body Stress may affect fertility?
Body stress may be present at any area of the spine, thereby affecting all areas of body functioning but when it comes to fertility it makes sense to highlight the effects of body stress specific to the lower spine.
As the nerve connections extend to the internal organs, any irritation to the spinal nerves of the lower back may result in back pain or disruption along the nerve pathways into the abdomen, colon, ovaries, uterus, groin, hips, legs or feet. While body stress remains stored in the lower back, the irritation to the nerves may undermine or disturb the normal functioning of the areas and organs they supply. Thus body stress may lead to digestive problems, e.g. constipation/diarrhea, bladder complaints and may adversely affect sexual or hormonal function.

“Pregnancy is another issue that only affects women.
As pregnancy in women advances, there is increasing tension in the lower back, which is usually also referred upwards to the shoulder-blade area or the neck.
Besides revealing these aches and pains, BSR plays an important role in helping the body prepare itself for birth. By minimising the compression in the lumbar spine, there is improved communication in the whole pelvic region.
Many women experience difficult births while they have back problems. After undergoing BSR care during the subsequent pregnancy, they have found the birth process much easier.”

Our bodies are very clever at communicating with us, but our brains are not always so great at listening.

When we feel tired, do we rest? When we feel drained, do we pause to refill the emotional tank? When we feel run down, do we stop?

Body Stress Release can act as the break your body needs.

By releasing stress and tension your body is put into the optimal state to refresh itself.

Let BSR help you today.

How long will the recovery process take?
Each case is different and has its own timing. We find that recent events might be resolved quicker while long-term conditions may be slower and more gradual but the BSR practitioner can give you a sense of progress being achieved by observing certain signs of response to the releases.
