Port Elizabeth Braces for Scorching Temperatures☀️
The public is urged to take precautionary measures as Port Elizabeth experiences extremely high temperatures reaching above 30°C today.
Residents are reminded to remain hydrated and to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. The heat can lead to dehydration, exhaustion, and heat stroke.
Pet owners are advised to ensure that animals are kept in shaded areas with a constant supply of fresh, cool water. Do not leave pets or children unattended in vehicles under any circumstances
Motorists are further cautioned against leaving their vehicles parked in direct sunlight for long periods, as interior temperatures can rise rapidly, posing health and safety risks.
The public is encouraged to look out for one another, especially the elderly, children, and vulnerable individuals who may be more susceptible to heat related illnesses
