🌿 Do I need to talk?”

This is one of the first questions people ask me.

And the answer is…
No, you don’t have to.

TRE is not traditional talk therapy.
You don’t need to tell your whole story.
You don’t need to explain what happened.

Your body already knows.

Stress, burnout, anxiety, overwhelm, grief, trauma — they don’t only live in the mind. They live in the nervous system. And sometimes the body needs to release what words cannot.

TRE works gently with the body’s natural tremor mechanism to help discharge stored tension and support regulation of the nervous system.

And here’s something very important:

🌿 We only work at the pace of your nervous system.

Your body decides what it is ready to release — not me, not a timeline, not pressure.

Sometimes that means gentle tremoring.
Sometimes it means slowing down.
Sometimes it means we focus first on building safety and regulation before allowing deeper release.

There is no forcing.
There is no pushing.
There is only working with what your nervous system is ready for.

You are always in control.
You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
We move at the pace your body can safely integrate.

This is a safe, supportive space in Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha where your body can begin to unwind — in its own time.

🌿 One-on-one sessions available
🌿 Small group sessions available

If you’ve been feeling:
• Burnt out
• Wired but exhausted
• Carrying tension in your body
• Emotionally overwhelmed
• Stuck in stress mode

You don’t have to explain everything to begin healing.

Sometimes your body just needs permission.

🌿 TRE & The Vagus Nerve 🌿

The vagus nerve is one of the most important nerves in the body.

It connects your brain to your heart, lungs, gut and many of your internal organs. It plays a key role in helping you shift out of stress and into calm.

When your vagus nerve is functioning well, you feel:
🌿 Safe
🌿 Regulated
🌿 Connected
🌿 Able to rest and digest

But when stress or trauma gets stored in the body, the nervous system can stay stuck in survival mode — fight, flight or freeze.

Trauma Release Exercises (TRE®) work directly with the body to gently discharge deep tension patterns. As the body tremors naturally, the nervous system begins to settle, and the vagus nerve can return to its job of restoring balance.

We don’t force calm.
We create safety — and calm follows.

Your body already knows how to regulate. Sometimes it just needs the right support.

🌿 What Happens When the Body Feels Safe?

When the body finally feels safe, it doesn’t need to stay on high alert anymore.

With TRE® (Trauma Release Exercises), we don’t force healing. We simply give the nervous system the conditions it needs to do what it already knows how to do.

When safety returns to the body, people often notice:
🌿 The breath deepens naturally
🌿 Muscles soften without effort
🌿 The mind becomes quieter
🌿 Digestion improves
🌿 Sleep feels more restful
🌿 The constant “on edge” feeling eases
🌿 Emotions feel more manageable

The tremors in TRE are not something you do — they are something that happens when the body realises it’s safe enough to let go.

Healing doesn’t come from pushing harder.
It comes from allowing the body to complete what it couldn’t before.

Safety is the foundation.
Everything else flows from there.

🌿 Gentle.
🌿 Body-led.
🌿 At your nervous system’s pace.

Survival Mode 🌿

Stress. Trauma. Illness. Chronic pain. Grief. Hormonal shifts.
Life happens — and the body remembers.

Many people are living in fight, flight or freeze without even realising it.
It can look like:
• Constant tension
• Feeling overwhelmed or shut down
• Trouble sleeping
• Chronic pain or fatigue
• Emotional reactivity or numbness

This isn’t weakness — it’s a nervous system doing its best to keep you safe.

TRE® gently supports the nervous system to come out of survival mode and into regulation, where rest, repair and healing become possible.

You don’t have to “push through.”
Your body knows the way — it just needs safety and support.

✨ Slow. Gentle. Body-led.

Who is TRE for? 🌿

TRE® (Trauma Release Exercises) is for anyone with a nervous system — which means most of us.

TRE may be supportive if you:
• Feel stressed, overwhelmed, or constantly “on edge”
• Carry tension, tightness, or chronic pain in your body
• Have experienced trauma (big or small)
• Struggle to fully relax, even when life is “fine”
• Feel emotionally stuck, shut down, or easily triggered
• Are navigating life transitions like menopause, illness, grief, or change
• Want a body-based approach rather than talking everything through

TRE is gentle, natural, and works with the body’s own ability to release stored tension — no forcing, your body does the work

You don’t need to be broken to benefit from TRE.
You just need a body that’s been living life 💚

What TRE® Is Not

TRE® is often misunderstood, so today let’s clear a few things up 🤍

🌿 TRE® is not talk therapy
There’s no need to tell your story, explain your trauma.

🌿 TRE® is not about analysing or fixing your thoughts
It works with the body and nervous system, not the mind.

🌿 TRE® is not about pushing emotions out
Nothing is forced. Your body releases at its own pace, when it feels safe.

🌿 TRE® is not exercise or stretching for fitness
The movements are simply a way to access the body’s natural tremor mechanism.

🌿 TRE® is not a quick “one-session cure”
It’s a gentle, cumulative process that supports long-term regulation.

🌿 TRE® does work beautifully alongside talk therapy
Because it supports the body, it can make talk therapy feel safer, easier, and more integrated.

🌿 TRE® focuses on regulation, not the story
Your nervous system already knows what to do — TRE® helps it remember.

Small movements. Deep shifts.
No storytelling required.

What is TRE®️?

TRE®️(Trauma Release Exercises) is a set of gentle exercises that activate the body’s natural tremor mechanism.

These tremors help release stored stress and tension from the nervous system — without having to talk about trauma.

TRE is about:
🌿Safety
🌿Choice
🌿Allowing the body to do what it already knows how to do

Less effort.
More listening.
Your body sets the pace.

I didn’t find TRE… TRE found me.

One of my reflexology clients started telling me about TRE, and something in my gut just knew — this was it.
For the first time in a long time, I felt excited about something… not just for myself, but for what it could do for others.

At that stage of my life, I wasn’t really feeling happiness anymore. I was functioning — work, home, sleep, repeat. Life felt like a hamster wheel.

TRE gently brought me back into the present moment.
I started having little flashes of happiness, out of nowhere. And that changed everything.

Over the last year — which has been my TRE journey — there’s been a lot going on.
Menopause. Moving house. Big changes. Stressful life events.

And what surprised me most was this:
I just… coped.

Not by pushing through or holding it together — but genuinely coping.
Like my system could handle anything life threw at me.

In my body, things shifted too:
• I stopped clenching my jaw and grinding my teeth
• My body became more flexible — I can now do yoga poses I could never do before
• My lymphatic system started working better (I noticed this because my lymphatic reflexes in my feet are no longer sore during reflexology)
• I learned how to respond instead of react

And the biggest change?
I feel calm.
Not rushed. Not constantly planning. Just… calm.

That’s why I do TRE. 🤍
