Venous leg ulcers remain a common problem in a wide variety of people. Covering just the wound is not the answer.

In wound healing it is all about treating the cause. And in this patient’s case the leg ulcer is continuing to increase in size and severity due to underlying poor venous blood flow and ongoing biofilm formation resulting in repeating infections.

1. Gold standard treatment is compression bandages
2. Treat the infected wound with both a biofilm remover and an antibacterial dressing.
3. Red light therapy together with near infrared light therapy improves blood flow and kick starts healing.
4. Blue light therapy assist in treating infection.
5. Intermittent whole body negative therapy allows for overall revasvularisation, venous return improvement and lymphatic drainage.

Our goal is to treat the underlying cause in order to achieve faster healing and better quality of life for our patients.

Wound care is so much more than just the wound. This patient arrived with dressing only on the wound site. The leg is severely swollen and during the past month the ulcers has increased in size and severity in spite of antibiotics.

At Eloquent we believe in treating the cause of the ulcers as well as addressing patient centred concerns.

These wounds were non-healing due to poor venous blood flow. Enough arterial blood flowing down to the feet but due to high pressure in the vein system as well as a calf muscle not pumping as it should. This results in swelling and the formation of venous leg ulcers.

These type of leg ulcers require lower limb compression bandaging as the international gold standard treatment.

At Eloquent we believe in following global guidelines and also using supporting technology to enable faster wound healing.

1. Advanced wound care using advanced products
2. Local light and near infrared red light therapy to kick starts healing healing and treatment local inflammation
4. Intermittent whole body vacuum therapy (IVT) to promote recalculation, venous return and lymph drainage.

By improving blood flow we increase oxygenation, by improving lymphatic drainage we increase healing.
