✨ Transforming Healthcare, One Surgery at a Time ✨

We’re excited to share this incredible article from the University of the Free State, highlighting their leadership role in the ASH Mandela Month Surgical Marathon.

This groundbreaking project brought together doctors, academics, government, and private partners to provide free, life-changing robotic surgeries to patients in need — right here at Universitas Academic Hospital in Bloemfontein.

👏🏽 Big thanks to UFS, the Free State Department of Health, Marcus Medical, CMR Surgical, and our ASH team for making this vision a reality.

Wrapping up the ASH Mandela Week Surgical Marathon 2024!

In an incredible display of compassion and dedication, over 100 doctors, including 40 specialists, performed 168 life-changing surgeries for patients who had been waiting for months or even years. This initiative, part of African Synergy Health’s Mandela Day drive, showed the power of collective action in addressing critical healthcare challenges.

Dr. Viola Morolo, Founder and Chief Director of ASH, said, “We are on a journey to realising our vision of zero patients on elective surgical waiting lists in public hospitals, starting with Urology and General Surgery in South Africa and expanding to other disciplines and the rest of Africa.”
