“Hypnosis -- or hypnotherapy -- uses guided relaxation, intense concentration, and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness that is sometimes called a trance. The person's attention is so focused while in this state that anything going on around the person is temporarily blocked out or ignored. In this naturally occurring state, a person may focus his or her attention -- with the help of a trained therapist -- on specific thoughts or tasks.
How Does Hypnosis Work?
Hypnosis is usually considered an aid to psychotherapy (counseling or therapy), because the hypnotic state allows people to explore painful thoughts, feelings, and memories they might have hidden from their conscious minds. In addition, hypnosis enables people to perceive some things differently, such as blocking an awareness of pain.
Hypnosis can be used in two ways, as suggestion therapy or for patient analysis.
Suggestion therapy: The hypnotic state makes the person better able to respond to suggestions. Therefore, hypnotherapy can help some people change certain behaviors, such as stopping smoking or nail biting. It can also help people change perceptions and sensations, and is particularly useful in treating pain.
Analysis: This approach uses the relaxed state to explore a possible psychological root cause of a disorder or symptom, such as a traumatic past event that a person has hidden in his or her unconscious memory. Once the trauma is revealed, it can be addressed in psychotherapy.”

Does Hypnosis Work For Self-Confidence?
In a patient testimonial from a typical hypnotherapy practice, a 47-year-old man enrolled in a Canadian university described his anxiety around exams and tests. He found that he was anxious and unable to cope with the pressure of testing; he simply couldn’t concentrate on the task at hand, and made silly mistakes on tests as a result.

Through hypnotherapy, the man discovered issues from his past that were preventing him from believing he could be successful in school:

Since my childhood I have always questioned my ability to succeed. [Hypnosis] helped me to virtually retrain my mind to think of myself as most capable, smart and successful person. I am no longer afraid to succeed.

The result? After hypnotherapy treatment, he regained his sense of confidence and was able to slow down and focus on his exams. He scored a 96 percent on an exam and was positive he could continue the trend.

One of the many success stories for weight loss from the Wellness Institure in Washington
:
Does Hypnosis Work For Weight Loss?
A CNN story centered on a woman who was 5-foot-6 and weighed 287 pounds, and underwent “hypnosis gastric bypass” under the supervision of a hypnotherapist in 2007. The “procedure” is exactly what it sounds like: essentially a visualization of the surgical process, from meeting the doctor to leaving the hospital afterward.

The hypnotherapist explains that after the visualization, “the mind believes the stomach is smaller,” and therefore the appetite is smaller, too. The patient, Julie Evans, experienced immediate results after her first session: “After her first session, Evans said she started craving spinach. By the next day, she said she was eating a quarter of what she had before.”

She began losing weight immediately, and with ongoing commitment to hypnotherapy, continued to lose weight and keep it off. After two years, she reached her goal weight of 150 pounds (nearly half her original body weight). She has maintained this weight for more than three years — and has reclaimed the life she felt her additional weight was holding her back from.

Who shouldn’t use hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is generally very safe. Most people say that they have a positive experience with it. But some people report negative side effects, such as increased anxiety.
You shouldn’t use hypnotherapy if you have certain medical conditions, as it could make them worse.
These are:
psychosis (a type of mental illness where people have a distorted view of what’s real and may see or hear things)
a personality disorder
epilepsy

MY STRESS PHILOSOPHY
“TO TREAT MYSELF MAGNIFICENTLY WELL ESPECIALLY DURING TIMES OF STRESS I GIVE MY SELF A BETTER CHANGE TO COPE AND BE WELL”
Unfortunately, too often the reverse is true: too many of us, when wounded, neglect ourselves terribly” We are often so pre-occupied with the wound that we forget to search for a medicine, a healing or a cure. When things go wrong …. Treat yourself better.

HYPNOTHERAY

After a car accident 1987 I was in constant pain. No medication could relieve the pain that I suffered. I heard about hypnotherapy as an alternative to medication. Doing research on the subject, I found that it even assisted people with cancer. Wow! That is amazing!

I entered a training program at Johannesburg with a lecturer from the South African Association of Hypnotists and completed the basic training, but that was not enough! I wanted more. I wanted to be able to help other people in more ways and fields than just pain relief. My training covered the everyday problems, specific needs, regression therapy and extensive stress relief therapy.

On completion of my courses I felt properly equipped to really make a difference in the lives of my clients. I have successfully been working with bad habits, low self-esteem, public speaking, stammering, weight problems, kids with learning problems, students at varsity with study problems, insomnia and too many more to mention. Then of course … today’s biggest killer! STRESS!!!!

Hypnosis is a truly natural state of mind and body and is therefore perfectly safe.
