Yesterday I went to to do a assessment of , a Cross-fitter and , a pro boxer and MMA athlete.

It was fascinating seeing the difference in strength in different body parts depending on the sport. Injuries were also picked up and how the body has managed to compensate for past injuries.

We have highlighted specific areas to work on and we will reassess in a few weeks to monitor the progress.

The Connection Between Sleeping Position and Neck Pain

Your neck and spine are designed to maintain a specific alignment. If your sleeping position disrupts this natural alignment, the muscles and ligaments in your neck are forced to work overtime while you’re resting. Over time, this can lead to tension, muscle strain, and pressure on the nerves, resulting in a stiff or painful neck upon waking.

🥱Side Sleepers: If you sleep on your side, your neck should stay aligned with the rest of your spine. A pillow that’s too high or too low can tilt your head, causing strain on your neck muscles.

🥱Back Sleepers: For those who sleep on their back, a pillow that supports the natural curve of your neck without pushing your head too far forward is essential.

🥱Stomach Sleepers: Sleeping on your stomach is one of the worst positions forneck pain. This position forces you to twist your neck to the side for long periods, which can compress nerves and cause stiffness or even lead to chronic issues.

At we see a lot of patient who struggle with sore necks and headaches. Book a consultation with us to help treat the pain and have an assessment to help advice on the best pillow and sleeping position.
