See sometimes the issue we have with Discovery patients is this, they will come and consult, we will accept their medical aid as payment. Then for for some odd reason, the medical aid pays them, meaning they are supposed to come and pay me instead.

To this day, all the discovery patients have kept that money for themselves, they don’t even call us to find out if the medical aid paid us or not, they all think discovery just gave them money for Christmas. Fortunately I have a list of all those patients who have done me so, and next time when i refuse to see discovery patients or want them to pay me cash and claim from the scheme I’m told i am unreasonable and not fair. I have a list guys, I can reveal who has kept the money and on what dates it was paid to them instead of me. It means these patients are okay with making me work for free and steal from me without so much as a guilt.

There are reasons to every decision I make, like why as some point I was refusing to see them completely. I have a list and dates! If you know you have done this to me, please contact us and do the right thing by us. I don’t don’t want to expose anyone here, I’m giving you a chance to make things right.

Alternatively you can just deposit what was paid to you to our account Capitec Bank 1212 5688 91, immediate payment with your name as reference. If you don’t know the amount What’Sapp me 073 292 9943 then we can discuss privately.

Just a reminder ladies and gentlemen. Although doctor is available on WhatsApp, you cannot simply send a message eg ‘Doctor my right eye is painful and there’s a yellow discharge coming, what would you recommend I use/do’

This creates an environment of entitlement, firstly doctor doesn’t even know your details eg name, chronic illness etc. above all you haven’t even made payment for the online consultation and you already seeking answers or treatment plans. That’s not why this platform exists. It exists such that.

1. You greet and share your name.
2. You already then request for an online consultation, fee applicable and banking details, then you make the immediate payment and send the POP.
3. Once these are confirmed by admin. You’ll then be transferred to doctor, who will then ask you your main/chief complaint in a form of a voice note, picture or written ever suits you. Then it goes on.

Same of ordering of products, introduce yourself and immediately indicate I’d like to order such and such, how much am I looking at? You’ll be given a price. Once payment made we discuss mode of collection or courier and fees attached to that.

Most importantly’ we all work 9-5pm. As much as you’d never message Dr Rust or Dr Matos at 10pm same applies here unless you’re dealing with an emergency.

This thing of jumping straight to ‘doctor I have n….. can you treat and how much’ is not on. Or perhaps in person consultation is best for you, then come to the office.

We appreciate your support immensely but we don’t appreciate being abused because we depend on our customers for our survival. Let’s treat each other with mutual respect.

Stock is no issue!! Other doctors buy in bulk, I decline because that can hleave me without stock for my patients and end up pushing prices up because I need to sell for less!
