✨ Wishing the biggest GOOD LUCK to this powerhouse of a woman! ✨

Today she lines up for The Munga — one of the toughest 1,000 km endurance races in the world — and she’s doing it at 71 years young.

Yes… you read that right.
71. And taking on a race most people would never even dream of attempting.

I’ve had the privilege of supporting her through the preparation — from managing low back pain and sciatica, to building strength, mobility, and resilience for the long hours on the bike. And every session has reminded me of one thing:

🔥 This woman is unstoppable. 🔥

Her “why” is simple but powerful:
To prove to herself that she can. To show that courage has no age limit.

Redefining what your 70's can look like!

I have the privilege of working with a truly remarkable 71-year-old patient, Sanpat Coetzee, who came to see me in preparation for The Munga — one of the toughest endurance races in South Africa.

For those who don’t know, The Munga is a non-stop, 1,000 km, semi-supported mountain bike race across harsh terrain and extreme conditions. Riders have just five days to complete it. No stages. No resets. Just grit, strategy, and pure mental strength. It’s known as “the toughest race on earth” for a reason.

She came to me needing some extra support and guidance, as she has been struggling with low back pain and sciatica, especially after long rides.
During her assessment, we identified specific areas that needed strengthening, as well as areas that were tight and needed releasing and stretching to support her posture, endurance, and resilience on the bike.

This week — 26 November — she lines up for The Munga.
At 71 years old, she is the oldest participant taking on this race.

And her why?
➡️ To prove to herself that she can.
➡️ To show that age is just a number.

PCOS & Diabetes: A Hidden Connection Every Woman Should Know

So many women struggle for years without a clear diagnosis… and one of the biggest reasons PCOS is often missed is insulin resistance. When insulin levels are high, symptoms like weight gain, fatigue, irregular cycles, cravings and stubborn belly fat are treated separately — instead of being recognised as part of a bigger hormonal picture.

And here’s the part we cannot ignore:
Diabetes is the number one killer of women in South Africa.

Diabetes isn’t managed by medication alone — it’s managed by movement.
As a Biokineticist, I see daily how the right exercise plan can transform blood sugar control, energy, mood, and long-term health.

✔️ Muscles are glucose sponges — when you move, they pull sugar out of the bloodstream naturally.
✔️ Strength training increases insulin sensitivity for up to 48 hours.
✔️ Walking after meals can significantly lower blood glucose spikes.
✔️ Consistency matters more than intensity.
