It’s check up day - I take 3-4 babies each Monday to make sure they all have a clean bill of health - prevention is way better than panic and emergency surgeries and cure 💗

✨ MEET MERRY ✨
10–12 months | Rottweiler cross | Female

Merry is an absolutely beautiful young girl with a big heart and the brightest, happiest energy. She was picked up as a stray and handed in at the PDSA, and she’s been with me for the past month while we search for her forever home.

She is:
💗 A total smoocher and cuddler
💗 Full of love, joy and life
💗 Affectionate, playful and incredibly sweet

Merry would do best:
🐶 As an only dog initially
—or—
🐶 With a very gentle, calm male, with proper, slow introductions

She will need:
🏡 A secure home with a good garden
🚶‍♀️ Regular walks – she’d absolutely love them
🛏️ To sleep inside and be part of the family

Medical & admin:
✔️ First vaccination done
✂️ Still to be sterilised
📍 Will be microchipped before going home

📍 Currently in kennels in the Somerset West / Gordon’s Bay area

Merry is a gorgeous bundle of brightness, energy and love, and she is more than ready to belong to someone who will adore her.

MEET LOUIS 🤍

Louis is a 4-month-old purebred Bull Terrier puppy.
He is social, calm, incredible with children, fantastic with other dogs, and genuinely one of the most loving, gorgeous pups you’ll meet. He is an absolute gem and deserves the most amazing home.

Unfortunately, Louis was homed with his sibling, which is not recommended, and they began fighting at a very young age — a classic case of littermate syndrome. This is a mistake still made far too often by breeders and rescue organisations.

Because of this:
• Louis will not be homed with another dog under 9–12 months of age
• Any existing dogs must be at least a year old or older

Home requirements:
• Must sleep inside at night
• No access to open driveways
• No access to open pools
• Secure property with proper perimeter fencing

If you would like to apply, please send full information, including:
• A video of your property, showing perimeter walls
• Details of any current pets
• Confirmation that all pets are up to date with vaccinations and sterilised

Louis will be sterilised at 6 months, which I will arrange.
Strict home checks and adoption rules apply.

He truly is going to be snapped up quickly, so if you’re serious and can offer the right home:

Looky looky ☕🐾 who just won the coffee draw that helped raise funds for Animal Welfare Helderberg in Gordon’s Bay.

This is just a little reminder to support your local rescues — they need us more than ever.

If you’d love to come and have a cup of coffee with me at my sanctuary, The Thomas Jackson Foundation, just up the road, you are so welcome.
Or, if you’d like to meet me for a coffee at Animal Welfare Helderberg and spend some time playing with kittens or pups, please WhatsApp me on 082 823 7435.

If you’re able to support either Animal Welfare Helderberg or The Thomas Jackson Foundation — or any local rescue — please do.
Volunteer. Donate. Share their posts. Foster. Advocate. Every single bit helps.

Most of us working in rescue are doing this purely from the heart — often with no pay at all, and where there are salaries, they’re tiny. This work is done out of love, compassion, and commitment.

Please reach out. Please support. And please don’t underestimate the difference you can make 🤍🐶
