📖✨ This past weekend, several homeopaths attended the HSA Postgraduate Course with Dr Gyan Wadhwani from India — diving deeper into the art and science of homeopathic prescribing.
We explored case-taking, remedy differentiation, and how to truly see the patient beyond the symptoms. 🌿
During one session, as our notes filled the board in what looked like a complex web of symptoms, Dr Gyan reminded us:
“Even in patients, things may look tangled — but we are trained to make sense of it. That’s what we do.” 💚

Aphorism 6 of the Organon says it best:
“The unprejudiced observer… takes note solely of the changes in the health of the body and of the mind which can be perceived by the senses, and notices only the deviations from the former healthy state.”

This was the 4th of 6 modules in the series — a journey of continual learning, refinement, and care for our patients. 🌱

🎀 Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗

This October, we’re reminded of the strength, resilience, and hope carried by everyone affected by breast cancer — patients, survivors, and their loved ones. 🌸
In honour of this month, we also reflect on a 2023 study published in Clinical Breast Cancer, which found that women receiving homeopathic care alongside conventional treatment experienced a reduced need for additional medications to manage side effects, suggesting improved quality of life.

Homeopathy continues to offer gentle, individualised support that complements other forms of medicine — caring for the person as a whole. 💕

Our hearts were full as the students from the University of Johannesburg and Durban University of Technology officially opened the HSA National Congress 2025. 💚 Their energy, warmth, and passion set the tone for a weekend of learning, connection, and inspiration.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do — to nurture and empower the next generation of homeopaths who will carry this profession forward with heart and integrity. 🌱

Dr Alexander Tournier reminded us how homeopathy continues to stand up to scientific scrutiny:

Dr Alexander Tournier a physicist from Cambridge and former Cancer Research UK scientist, now studies how water and nanostructures might explain how homeopathy works — from quantum physics to molecular communication. 💚 We were deeply honoured to have Dr Saadiq Kariem, Chief Operating Officer for the Western Cape Department of Health, presenting at our HSA Congress 2025.

He shared an inspiring message about collaboration — how, by working together, we can strengthen South Africa’s healthcare system and bring more accessible, holistic care to our communities. 🌍✨

Dr Kariem shared with us the DoH’s plans to work on providing universal healthcare in the Western Cape and they plan to focus on targeting all stages of healthcare from birth, through to adulthood and the elderly - a plan of action that aligns with the HSA’s vision!
