Next Step... Retainers!

Another Day Another Successful Story!!! This is Khomotso, when she came to us she had Posterior crossbite (back) and Anterior moderate crowding (front), her upper arch midline had deviated by 2mm to the right. We recommended braces and she had them put in by us. After some time with braces on,we have removed them as she has now completed her first part of the journey and is now moving to the second part which will be the implementation of Retainers. Khomotso is very happy with her results and more than anything we are happy because to us..Your Smile Matters!!!

RETAINERS
They are Orthodontic devices that are used to maintain teeth alignment once a patient has removed braces. Braces are used to align crooked or misaligned teeth, once the desired correction of teeth has been achieved, the Doctor will now move on to replace the braces with Retainers to prevent the teeth from moving back to the previously corrected position.
There are different types Retainers, the two main types are : Fixed Retainers that stay in your mouth and Removable Retainers that you can take in and out. Many Doctors sometimes use both Fixed and Removable to keep the teeth straight.
Fixed Retainers stay on your teeth with a glue-like bonding agent and you can't remove them yourself.
Removable Retainers can go in and out of your mouth.
The Benefits?? Well, after your braces are off using the Retainer keeps your teeth in the correct position so that the results last, so that all the hardwork of getting and wearing braces pays off!
They are worn full time for four to six months and thereafter you can wear them part time only at night.
This is the last part in your teeth correcting journey and once done,you can safely smile with confidence knowing that you have put in the work. Nothing warms our hearts more than knowing that we have done our part in helping you fix your smile because to us , Your Smile Matters 😃
