Tibetan sand mandalas are intricate, temporary spiritual art forms created by Tibetan monks to symbolize the universe and promote healing and peace. The process involves pouring colored sand, made from crushed marble, into complex geometric designs, a practice that can take weeks or months. At the end of the creation, a ceremony is held to destroy the mandala by sweeping the sand into a river, an act that symbolizes the Buddhist concept of impermanence and spreads the mandala's blessings to all beings.
They will be finishing tomorrow morning - we thoroughly recommend going to visit them at the KZNA gallery.
