Today is Jinnelee's BIRTHDAY

My kind… hierdie jaar het my hart gebreek en weer heelgemaak op maniere wat ek nooit kon droom nie. Ek het jou pyn gesien, jou trane afgevee en elke dag vir jou lewe gebid. Jy het deur soveel gegaan — die groot operasie, die dae van vrees en hoop — en tog staan jy vandag hier, met daardie mooi glimlag en daardie sterk gees wat almal aanraak.

Ek sien God se hand in jou lewe, my liefste. Jy is my wonderwerk, my bewys dat geloof sterker is as enige storm. Jy het my geleer wat ware moed is, wat genade beteken, en hoe groot God se liefde regtig is.

As ek na jou kyk, borrel trots en dankbaarheid uit my hart. Jy is meer as my dogter — jy is my inspirasie, my gebed wat waar geword het.

Mag hierdie jaar vir jou sag wees, vol vrede, gesondheid en soveel geluk. Jy verdien net mooi dinge, my kind. Ek is só lief vir jou — met elke asem wat ek haal. 💕

Trots op jou swaartjie

Today I just want to say thank you to each and every one who has been on this journey with us. We are so grateful for all the love, prayers, and support for our Jinnelee. The doctors were really happy and impressed with how well she is doing, and the best part is that we only have to go back in a year’s time for her final X-rays.

Yesterday was such an emotional day for us. We received the most amazing news about her recovery, but also some sad news that left Jinnelee feeling a bit overwhelmed. She won’t be able to do some of the things she has always dreamed of — like playing netball, riding horses, or just being the busy, active teenager she wanted to be. Because of her spine and implants, those dreams aren’t possible.

Even so, our hearts are thankful. If it wasn’t for the surgery, she wouldn’t have the chance at a long, healthy life — and for that we will forever be grateful. It will take time for her to process this new reality, but we know Jinnelee’s strength and light will carry her through. She may not be able to do everything she dreamed of, but she will find new dreams and new ways to shine. 🌸
