Many people lose money in food businesses not because food is bad, but because of poor stock rotation.

Stock rotation simply means:

Using the older food first before the newer one.

This helps maintain food quality, safety, and reduces losses.

Most food spoilage in fridges, freezers, and shelves happens because food stays too long without proper rotation.

The basic principle is called:

FIFO – First In, First Out

This means:

The food that enters storage first must be used first.

For example:

If you buy soft drinks today and then buy another batch next week, the first batch must be sold or used before the second batch.

This prevents food from staying too long and losing quality.

WHY STOCK ROTATION IS IMPORTANT:

1. Maintains food freshness
Older food spoils with time.
Using it first keeps food fresh and safe for consumers.

2. Prevents food spoilage
When new stock is placed in front of old stock, the older items remain forgotten at the back until they expire.

3. Reduces financial loss
Spoiled food means wasted money.
Good rotation helps businesses avoid unnecessary losses.

4. Improves food safety
Expired or poorly stored food can cause food poisoning.
Proper rotation reduces the risk of selling unsafe food.

When placing items in a fridge:

• Move older products to the front
• Place new products at the back
• Check expiry dates regularly
• Avoid overfilling the fridge (air must circulate)

Always arrange older stock in front and new stock behind.

Also check for:

• Damaged packaging
• Expiry dates
• Dust and contamination

MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE:

• Buying too much stock at once
• Mixing new stock with old stock randomly
• Ignoring expiry dates
• Overloading fridges
• Not labeling stored food. These mistakes lead to quality loss and food waste.

GOOD STORAGE PRACTICES

• Label food with dates
• Arrange food neatly first in first out method.
• Keep storage areas clean
• Monitor expiry dates weekly
• Avoid excessive stocking

Whether in homes, restaurants, shops, or bars, good storage management matters.

NORMAL TESTS BUT YOU STILL FEEL SICK HERE’S WHY

Many people say: “Doctor, my tests are normal, but I don’t feel well.”

And they are right.

Normal results do NOT always mean health.

You can have:
▪️ Normal blood sugar
▪️ Normal BP
▪️ Normal lab results

Yet still experience:
▪️ Fatigue (tiredness)
▪️ Dizziness
▪️ Body pains
▪️ Poor appetite
▪️ Slow healing

Why does this happen?

Because tests measure disease, not daily function.

Common reasons you feel sick despite normal tests:
▪️ Poor nutrition (diet)
▪️ Skipping meals or eating irregular
▪️ stress
▪️ Poor sleep
▪️ Hormonal imbalance

Your body may be surviving,
but it is not thriving.

Medication can normalize numbers,
but lifestyle determines how you feel.

Food patterns affect: ▪️ Energy production
▪️ Hormone balance
▪️ Inflammation
▪️ Immune strength

That’s why:
▪️ Symptoms persist
▪️ Healing feels slow
▪️ You feel “not yourself”

Healing is more than test results. It is how your body functions daily.

This is why nutrition and lifestyle matter even when tests look “fine”.

STRESS IS FOOD TOO (But it’s not eaten)

Most people think food only enters the body through the mouth.
That’s not true.

Stress feeds the body too.

Every time you are stressed:
▪️ Cortisol is released
▪️ Blood sugar rises
▪️ Blood pressure increases
▪️ Inflammation increases (pain in some parts of your body)

Stress tells the body: “Something is wrong. Save energy. Hold fat. Raise sugar.”

This is why stressed people:
▪️ Struggle to control diabetes
▪️ They have unstable BP
▪️ They gain weight easily
▪️ They heal slowly
▪️ They feel tired even after eating

Stress affects:
▪️ Insulin sensitivity
▪️ Hormone balance
▪️ Appetite control
▪️ Sleep

You can eat well,
but if stress is high, healing become slow.

Common things that makes people become stressed:
▪️ Financial pressure
▪️ Poor sleep
▪️ Relationship tension
▪️ Fear about illness
▪️ Overworking

Managing stress is part of treatment, not optional.

Simple stress reducing habits that support healing is as follows: ▪️ Regular meals
▪️ Adequate sleep
▪️ Slow breathing (take some deep breath a minute to 2)
▪️ Short walks
▪️ Limiting constant worrying

Medication + nutrition + stress control = healing.

Ignoring stress is like eating junk food every day.

WHY SICKNESS STARTS IN THE KITCHEN
Most chronic diseases don’t start in hospitals.
They start at home in the kitchen.

Daily habits matter:
▪️ Too much salt = High BP
▪️ Too much sugar = Diabetes
▪️ Too much oil = Inflammation
▪️ Poor meal timing = Hormonal imbalance

Food eaten daily becomes:
▪️ Medicine
or
▪️ Slow poison

Your body doesn’t react to food once.
It reacts to patterns.

What you eat repeatedly programs:
▪️ Blood pressure
▪️ Blood sugar
▪️ Gut health
▪️ Immunity
Healing also begins in the kitchen.

YOUR PLATE PREDICTS YOUR FUTURE HEALTH

Look at your plate today. It shows your health tomorrow.

A plate full of:
▪️ Refined carbs
▪️ Oil
▪️ Little vegetables

Predicts:
▪️ Diabetes
▪️ BP
▪️ Weight gain
▪️ Fatigue

A balanced plate with: ▪️ Vegetables (half the plate)
▪️ Protein
▪️ Controlled carbohydrates

Predicts:
▪️ Stable sugar
▪️ Better BP
▪️ Strong immunity
▪️ Long-term health

Your genes load the gun. While Your plate pulls the trigger.

HEALTHY EATING IS NOT EXPENSIVE

Many people think: “Healthy food is for the rich.”

That’s a lie.

What makes people sick is not lack of money, it’s wrong food choices.

Cheap foods that damage health:
▪️ Refined mealie meal in excess
▪️ Sugary drinks
▪️ Fried snacks
▪️ Processed foods

Affordable foods that heal:
▪️ Vegetables (r**e, pumpkin leaves, okra)
▪️ Eggs
▪️ Beans & groundnuts
▪️ Local fish
▪️ Clean water

Health is about portion size, balance, and timing.

EATING 4 FOOD GROUPS = HEALTH: WHY?

Most people eat every day, yet their healing is slow.
Because eating food is not the same as eating the right food groups, in the right amounts, for the right condition.

The body heals when food groups work together. When one is ignored or abused, medication struggles to work. Here are the food groups am talking about:
▪️Carbohydrates (energy foods)
▪️Proteins (body building)
▪️Fats and oils
▪️Vitamins and minerals
▪️Water

CARBOHYDRATES: These are the main source of energy. Without energy, the body becomes stressed, weak, and unable to heal. Eat them:
•For your brain, blood and muscles
• To support daily activity

Now! Excess refined carbohydrates raise blood sugar. They worsen diabetes and inflammation. Choose unrefined ones (roller meal, or those with fiber)

Portion size:
• Diabetes(sugar): smaller portions, slow-digesting carbs (those with fibers roller, brown bread, brown rice etc) make sure it's the size of your fist (ikofi in Bemba)
• TB and underweight patients: need more carbs (for energy)
• BP patients: moderate amounts, also avoid refined sources(just like those with sugar)

The issue is not carbohydrates, but: the Type, Portion size, and Timing.

PROTEINS: These are the building blocks of the body. They repair tissues and support immunity. They help:
• For wound healing
• To maintain muscles
• To strengthen immunity during illness

Low protein intake leads to:
• Delayed wound healing
• Frequent infections
• Muscle wasting

Potion size:
• TB patients need more
• Those recovering from illness need more
• Elderly they also need more.

Who needs control?
• Renal patients (excess protein strains kidneys)
These should focus on high biological value protein (HBV) these proteins have all 9 essential amino acids and are easy to digest (Eggs, Fish, Chicken "remove the skin", milk boil it to remove some fats or use fat free milk).

FATS AND OILS Fats support hormones, brain function, and absorption of vitamins. They help absorb vitamins A, D, E, K

Now! Excess oily and fried foods increase inflammation. They worsen BP, cholesterol, and weight gain (Obesity)

Who needs less? • BP patients • Heart conditions • Obesity

VITAMINS AND MINERALS These regulate body processes. Without them, the body cannot heal efficiently. They also improve immunity, Support digestion and Regulate blood pressure and blood sugar. Eat more of these. Best sources: Fruits (if you have sugar don't eat fruits unless you're in single number, 9 below, Vegetables (eat a lot of vegetables).

WATER Water is often ignored, yet it is essential for life and healing. Why drink enough water?
• To support kidney function
• Improve blood circulation
• Help digestion
Poor hydration leads to: • High BP, Kidney strain, Constipation, Thicken blood.

Who needs controlled intake? • Renal and heart patients (amount must be guided)

Healing fails when food groups are: Skipped, Poorly combined, Eaten without considering the medical condition

Medication treats symptoms.
Nutrition supports the body’s ability to heal.

You do not need expensive food. Healing depends on:
• Portion control based on condition
• Meal timing
• Understanding why you eat what you eat.

I help people manage medical and chronic conditions through nutrition and lifestyle guidance based on individual needs.
