Gutu Mission Hospital: Celebrating Our Heroes & Spreading Vital Awareness This October!

This October has been a month of reflection, recognition, and vital education here at Gutu Mission Hospital. We were thrilled to gather our incredible team to celebrate two very important occasions: commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month and honouring our dedicated staff members born in October!

The air was filled with warmth and appreciation as we shared a delicious cake, symbolically acknowledging both the joyous celebration of our October-born colleagues and our collective commitment to health awareness. It was a beautiful moment of unity and gratitude for the tireless work our staff performs daily.

Our celebration also included a crucial educational session. Staff members received an insightful lecture focused on Breast Cancer Awareness and the critical importance of Mental Health. These sessions are vital to equip our healthcare heroes with the latest knowledge, not only for their patients but also for their own well-being and that of their loved ones. Understanding prevention, early detection, and the holistic support needed for both physical and mental health is paramount.

At Gutu Mission Hospital, we believe in nurturing a supportive environment where our staff feels valued and empowered with knowledge. A huge thank you to everyone who made this event a success, and a special shout-out to all our October-born staff – we appreciate you!

🌿 Gutu Mission Hospital Stakeholders Meeting 🌿

Recently, we had a fruitful Stakeholders Meeting at our Nursing School hall with local Village Heads, Pastors, Village Health Workers, some Gutu RDC Councillors, and our Hospital Management team.

Together, we reflected on the journey so far — celebrating improved client service, the successful Medical and Surgical Camps, the Dental Clinic, and the Great Zimbabwe Ride 🚴🏾‍♂️ fundraising initiative.

Our local leaders encouraged one another, and all of us, to take ownership and responsibility of Gutu Mission Hospital. This hospital is our hospital — a lifeline for our families and communities. 💙

A number of important issues were discussed, and encouraging resolutions were drawn to keep us moving forward. With unity, dedication, and God’s grace, we believe the best is yet to come! 🙏

This past month was a whirlwind, and we can't thank you enough for the sacrifices you made to ensure the success of our Medical Camp, Surgical Camp, Great Zimbabwe Ride, and Dental Clinic. We know it wasn't easy juggling long hours and high-stakes work, all while trying to celebrate your special day.

Seriously, who needs a birthday cake when you can get the thrill of attending to 700+ patients in a day? Or the excitement of a 140-kilometer bike ride? 😉

Your dedication, hard work, and good humor are the heartbeat of Gutu Mission Hospital, and we're so grateful to have you on our team. Here's to you! We hope your August was filled with as much joy as you bring to others. ❤️

Happy Belated Birthday to all our July-born staff members! 🎉🎂🎁 We know, we know, we're a little late to the party. We promise we didn't forget you—August just hit us like chakata dzeJakata! Between the Medical Camp, the incredible Great Zimbabwe Ride, the live saving Surgical Camp, and the busy Dental Clinic, our calendars were a beautiful, chaotic mess. We’ve been running on grace and adrenaline, but it’s all been worth it. To our July heroes, thank you for your patience and for being the rockstars you are. We're incredibly blessed to have you on our team. We hope your birthday month was as amazing as you are, and we're officially putting a reminder in our calendar for gore rinouya! We have had four beautiful days at the Gutu Mission Hospital's free dental clinic! We are so incredibly grateful to have had the support of Dr. Freeblessing Murahwa from Harare and Dr. Robert Clark and Sandra Clark from Canada. Together with our committed staff, they served 120 patients, bringing smiles and relief to our community.

While we wish we could have attended to everyone, the clinic was an overwhelming success, and the support we received was truly heartwarming. This initiative was not just about dental care, but also about raising awareness for our hospital and our ambulance fundraising efforts.

A huge thank you to our dedicated hospital staff, the wonderful Gutu community, and EMAS Canada for making this clinic a reality. Your kindness and generosity have made a significant impact.

Dr. Peter Agwa, Executive Director of EMAS Canada, provided a comprehensive update on the successful events recently held at Gutu Mission Hospital. The events included a Medical Camp, The Great Zimbabwe Ride, and a Gynaecological Surgical Camp, with the Dental Clinic still ongoing.

In his address, Dr. Agwa expressed profound gratitude to all parties involved in the successful ex*****on of these events. He thanked the local community of Gutu for their hospitality and cooperation. He also extended his appreciation to the medical specialists who traveled from all over Zimbabwe, as well as the various international partners who contributed their time and expertise. Dr. Agwa's report highlighted the collaborative effort that made these impactful initiatives possible, emphasizing the positive difference they have made in the lives of the community members.

We are excited to announce our Free Dental Clinic at Gutu Mission Hospital from Monday the 18th to the 22nd of August 2025!
Come and get free check-ups, cleanings, fillings, and extractions. Our dedicated team of doctors and nurses is ready to provide excellent dental care for the community.
We also have a special appeal! We are currently fundraising to purchase an ambulance for Gutu Mission Hospital to better serve our community. Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Gutu Mission Hospital staff, RCZ, all the volunteering doctors and nurses, and EMAS Canada for making this life-changing event possible.
