There is no doubt that air conditioning is a great asset to comfortable driving conditions, however with modern cars where almost the whole of the interior is made from plastic/leather there are by some considered to be hazards to the occupants of the vehicle if the air conditioning is turned on as soon as the vehicle is entered.

If you are concerned then this possible problem is easy overcome, If you arrive back to your car and find the interior temperature high and a smell of plastic present in the car simply leave the door open for a few minutes or open a couple of windows.
This will allow any smells from plastics/leather to ventilate to atmosphere and will also lower the interior temperature quicker this will allow the air conditioning now switched on to cool the car's interior to a comforatable temperature sooner than would be otherwise be the case.

Taking good care of your vehicle’s air conditioning unit means more than simply turning it on when you get hot. That may indeed cool you off, but that doesn’t mean that it is going to do much to keep it running right and being reliable. There are some things you have to do to the air conditioner in order to keep it working in tip-top shape.
One of the things that need to be done to your vehicles air conditioner is to have the unit re-gassed. If you haven’t heard that before it could mean it’s time for your vehicle to have this service done.
Here are 5 things to know about air conditioning re-gas.
1. Your car will need a re-gas every 1.5 – 2 years on average. So if it has been a while, it is time to take your vehicle in for a re-gas.
2. On average your vehicle will lose around 10 percent of the gas annually. As it loses the gas it will stop producing as much cold air as you would like.
3. How long the re-gas process takes varies according to the type of vehicle you have. But you can count on it taking an hour or so.
4. You do not usually need an appointment to have a re-gas. Simply stop by and ask that your air conditioner be checked out, letting them know it is time for a re-gas.
5. Your vehicle air conditioner will work better overall if you continue to get it re-gassed as needed.

Purchasing your first or new aircon system?
Are you confused about the technical terms when considering about your aircon system?
We will break them down and explain to you each of the technical terms over the next few posts.
First term that we will touch on today is "BTU".
It's British Thermal Units in full.
Its a measure of thermal energy, or a unit of power.
Some will refer it as Horsepower or HP.
1HP is around 9000 BTU.
1.5HP is 12000 BTU.
2HP is 18000 BTU.
2.5HP is 22000/24000 BTU.
Generally speaking,
9k btu can cool down 15-18 sqm (HDB / Condo Bedroom)
12k btu can cool down 20-24 sqm (Condo Master Room)
18k btu can cool down 30-36 sqm (4 room flat Living Room)
22/24k btu can cool down 40-44 sqm (5 room / Condo Living Room)

The Single Most Effective Way of Self Cleaning Your Aircon Revealed!!!
Its in your Remote Control!
After a night of usage, DO NOT switch on your aircon immediately when you wake up, instead do the following
- Set your mode from "Cool" to "Fan" mode, set Fan Speed to high.
- Let it run for 15 minutes.
- Off the aircon.
Why "Fan" Mode?
Setting to fan mode will activate the compressor, thus only the fancoil fan blower will run with normal (not cold) air blowing out, this will dry up the internal of the aircon unit of moisture, minimizing the build up of Mould and Mildew (which is caused by Dust, Dirt + Moisture)
PS. Just remember to set back to "Cool" mode when you use it again the next time.

The Truth About Air Con High Energy Consumption Revealed!
By making some simple changes to your remote controller, you can save money off your energy bills.
1. 24 degrees with high fan speed.
2. 18 degrees with low fan speed.
Which setting do you think consume more electricity?
Some might say it's Option 1, as the fan speed is set to high.
But, actually the fan speed doesn't affect the energy consumption much as the fan motor consume very little amount of energy as compared to the compressor.
Setting to a higher fan speed will help to distribute the cool air faster which will cool down the room faster.
This will enable the compressor to "cut off" faster thus saving energy.
Try to set your fan to a higher speed and increase your temperature by 2 degrees and SAVE more Energy and Money!
