Just kidding… (or are we? 😆) Putting ourselves out there on the internet can feel cringe sometimes, but we’re always so grateful for the support, kind words and occasional ‘Hey, I know you from Instagram!’ moments.
Have you ever seen someone IRL you follow online? What’s your experience been like?

BEHIND THE CONTACT LENS 👀 Introducing our new series with @drhollymacphee.od 🎉
Dr. MacPhee will be walking us through the different specialty contact lens options available and how you may benefit from them. First up in the series? ➡️ Ortho-K (or Orthokeratology)!
Ortho K can help to correct your vision by temporarily reshaping the cornea overnight, allowing for clear vision during the day… without glasses or contacts 🤯 We often prescribe Ortho K lenses for my younger patients to slow myopia but they are also actually a really good option for individuals with active lifestyles or athletes who find glasses or daytime contacts an inconvenience.
Not everyone is a candidate for Ortho K and the overnight regimen can be a big commitment! But if it’s something you’re interested in learning more about, save this video and remember to ask your eye doctor about them at your next exam!

I’m sure we all know someone who needs this hack ⬇️
👁 Every 20 minutes, give your eyes a 20-second break by focusing on something 20 feet away 👁
If you or someone you know works on a computer, tablet or phone for long periods of time, send this to them as a reminder! It’s a small change that can make a big difference.

While eye twitching is usually temporary and resolves on its own, there are steps you can take to help alleviate it.
You can try ⬇️
👁️ getting an adequate amount of sleep each night
👁️ managing stress
👁️ limiting caffeine and alcohol intake
👁️ taking frequent breaks during screen time
👁️ using artificial tears if dryness is a contributing factor
👁️ ensuring a balanced diet rich in essential nutrients
If your eye twitching persists for an extended period of time, becomes severe, or is accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, redness or vision changes, schedule an appointment!
In rare cases, persistent or severe eye twitching may be a sign of an underlying eye condition that requires further evaluation.
But overall, while eye twitching can be bothersome, it’s usually harmless and tends to improve with lifestyle modifications and proper eye care. If you have any concerns or questions about your eye twitching, please don’t hesitate to reach out 👀

This is more common than you think! 👀
While floaters are common and usually harmless, it can definitely be concerning when they first show up, often appearing as small, dark shapes or spots that seem to drift across your field of vision.
If you suddenly notice a significant increase in floaters, flashes of light or a shadow/curtain-like effect in your peripheral vision, it could be a sign of a more serious condition such as a retinal tear or detachment. You’ll want to seek immediate medical attention to prevent potential vision loss in this case!
Regular eye exams are important for monitoring your eye health and catching any potential issues early on. If you have any concerns about your floaters or notice any changes in your vision, don’t hesitate to schedule an appointment so we can evaluate your eyes and ensure your vision remains healthy 👁️
