Each Tuesday, we share a tip to make your life a little easier. Today’s tip is to set up predictable routines. This will make any child safe and secure, but especially a child with different abilities. Aim to do every day things like feeding, bathing, and teeth brushing around the same time of day when possible.

Starting child care or school can be challenging for young children, often leading to tears during drop-off. To help ease this transition, consider these strategies:

Maintain a Positive Attitude: Children often mirror their parents' emotions. Approaching drop-off with enthusiasm can help your child feel more comfortable.

Establish a Goodbye Ritual: Create a consistent and quick farewell routine, such as a special handshake or a cheerful wave, to provide your child with a sense of security.

Communicate Openly: Discuss the day's activities with your child beforehand to build excitement and set expectations.

TIP TUESDAY 💡

Each Tuesday we share a tip to make your life a little easier. Today’s tip is to prepare in advance when traveling. If you are planning on traveling this holiday season, make sure to have copies of your child’s important medical information and medications. Research ahead of time where the closet hospital is in case of emergency. Check with your insurance provider about in network or out of network providers. Finally, reach out to your medical provider and let them know you will be traveling and see if you can get an open referral on file for emergencies. This can reduce stress and save time. Create a folder or notebook to keep all this information organized for your trip.
