For our final spotlight, we celebrate Dr. Levi Watkins, Jr., a renowned cardiac surgeon and the first Black graduate of Vanderbilt University, who pioneered the use of the implantable defibrillator. We also honor Dr. Myra Adele Logan, the first woman to perform open-heart surgery, paving the way for life-saving procedures. Their dedication to medicine leaves a lasting impact!
