Shimi Das, MSc, COC, CCS, CHIM, is a Health Information Management and Revenue Cycle professional with over 21 years of experience across the U.S. and UAE healthcare systems. Her expertise includes medical coding, revenue cycle operations, clinical coding audits, coding compliance, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), and physician training on DRG systems and documentation standards.
She currently serves as an RCM Supervisor at a Dubai-based hospital, where she supports and mentors the RCM team, provides regular performance feedback, and helps staff adopt emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools. Her responsibilities include managing payer relations, pricing and negotiations, workflow optimization, quality initiatives, and training new team members on UAE insurance protocols and billing practices.
Shimi has been involved with the AAPC International Chapter–UAE since 2020. She served as Education Officer for the AAPC Abu Dhabi Local Chapter from 2020 to 2022 and has held the position of Vice President since 2023. In this role, she contributes to community learning and professional development through mentorship and training.
Outside of work, Shimi enjoys spending time in nature, traveling, exploring new places and culture, gardening, and swimming. These are activities that help her stay grounded and balanced.
