In 1998, Dr. Rabih left his family, his home, and his country, in order to pursue his dream of becoming a physician. Through those years, he was able to reach his goal and also start a family of his own, with his beautiful wife and adorable daughter. Still, there was no place like home, and so, Dr. Rabih came back to continue his professional journey and to offer his knowledge in aesthetic, reconstructive, maxillofacial, and hand surgery. Dr. Rabih obtained his MD in November 2005, in one of the most well-known medical academies in Europe. He graduated in 2013 after 6 years of training and practicing in different major German hospitals in the fields of aesthetic, advanced reconstructive, maxillofacial and hand surgery including advanced micro-surgical techniques. Shortly after post-graduation, Dr. Maatouk became head of the plastic surgery department at a 1000-bed hospital in Germany for 3 years. During that time, he had the chance to practice all 4 basic sub-specialties of plastic surgery: Aesthetics, reconstructive, hand surgery and burns. Due to the large population in that area (around 3 million people) covered by his department, Dr. Maatouk used to undergo about 1000 major procedures annually, ranging from simple Blepharoplasty to complicated free flap breast reconstructive surgeries (DIEP flaps).
