The new back-to-school rules apply to nurseries and daycare centers, public and private schools and higher education, educational training centers, and institutes across the UAE.

The new protocols will be applied within 30 days from the first day of school, to give anyone who’s yet to be vaccinated the opportunity to do so.

During this 30-day period, all students – both vaccinated and unvaccinated – will be required to take a PCR test every two weeks.

After the 30-day period is up, unvaccinated students under the age of 12 years old and vaccinated students over the age of 12 years old will be required to take one PCR test per month.

Unvaccinated students over the age of 12 will be required to take weekly PCR tests and distanced learning will be available to both vaccinated and unvaccinated students of all ages.

Parents will also be required to download the Alhosn app to show the school printed PCR and vaccination certificates, and if parents need to meet with school staff for any reason whatsoever, it’s recommended that parents schedule this meeting after all students have left the premises, and the time of the parents’ entrance and exit must be recorded.
