Healing is slow. And that’s okay.

In a world that expects us to "bounce back," cancer survivors know something different.
Recovery isn't always linear. It's quiet. It's internal.
And sometimes, it's simply about waking up and choosing to try again.

As an oncologist, I want every patient—past or present—to hear this:

✨ You don’t have to rush.
✨ You don’t need to pretend you’re fine.
✨ You’re allowed to heal on your own timeline.

Whether you're healing from surgery, chemo, loss, or fear—this journey is yours. And slow healing is still healing.

So take the nap. Miss the event. Ask for help. You’re not falling behind—you’re rebuilding.

🧡 If this speaks to you or someone you love, share it. Let’s make this a safe space for slow healing.

I thought I was just tired… until I wasn’t."

That’s what one of my patients told me after her diagnosis.
And it’s something I’ve heard more times than I can count.

Most people don’t miss the signs—they just don’t realize they are signs.

🎗️ As an oncologist, I want to share 5 symptoms I hope you never ignore:

1️⃣ Unexplained weight loss
2️⃣ Persistent fatigue that doesn’t improve with rest
3️⃣ Bleeding that seems unusual or out of place
4️⃣ Lumps under the skin—especially if they’re painless
5️⃣ Any symptom that feels "off" and just won’t go away

These symptoms don’t always mean cancer.
But here’s the truth: early detection gives us more options, better outcomes, and most importantly—hope.

💬 If you’re a survivor, you probably remember the moment you knew something wasn’t right.
If you’re someone watching and wondering… please don’t wait.

This post could be the nudge someone needs to schedule that check-up.
👉 Share it. Save it. Act on it.

🧬 "Not every cancer begins with genetics—some begin with an infection you didn’t even know you had."

Yes, it’s true: certain viruses and bacteria can silently increase your risk of developing cancer over time.
It doesn’t happen overnight—but when infections go untreated, they can trigger inflammation, weaken the immune system, or alter cell DNA.
That’s where cancer can begin.

🎯 So what are the real links between infections and cancer?
Here’s what we know from years of global cancer research:

🔹 HPV – Linked to cervical, a**l, and throat cancer
🔹 Hepatitis B & C – Major risk factors for liver cancer
🔹 H. pylori – Can cause stomach cancer
🔹 EBV (Epstein-Barr virus) – Associated with lymphoma and nasopharyngeal cancer

The scariest part?
Many of these infections have no symptoms at first—but they can grow quietly in your body for years.

The best defense?
✅ Vaccinations (HPV, Hepatitis B)
✅ Routine checkups and early screenings
✅ Awareness and early treatment

🌍 On this World Zoonoses Day, let’s expand our definition of prevention.
Protecting yourself from infection isn’t just about avoiding short-term illness—it’s about protecting your long-term future.
Because cancer prevention starts long before cancer shows up.

😴 Struggling to Sleep During Cancer Treatment? You’re not alone.

Fatigue. Anxiety. Medications. Pain.
Cancer can affect your sleep in ways that aren’t always visible—but deeply felt.

As an oncologist, I’ve seen how restless nights can add to the emotional weight of treatment.
But small changes can make a big difference.

In this post, I’m sharing 4 science-backed tips to help you sleep better—physically and emotionally—during or after treatment.

✨ Because sleep isn’t a luxury—it’s part of your healing.

💬 Tag someone going through recovery.
📌 Save this post for your bedtime routine.

🎗️ Survival is not the end. It’s the beginning of something entirely new.

Surviving cancer isn’t just about making it through treatment—it’s about learning to live again.
To trust your body.
To understand your mind.
To find yourself beyond the diagnosis.

As an oncologist, I’ve seen this quiet phase—when the world thinks you’re “done,” but inside, you’re still healing.

If you’re navigating this phase, know this:
✨ You are allowed to feel different.
✨ You are allowed to slow down.
✨ And most of all, you are allowed to rediscover who you are—on your terms.

To every survivor reading this—you’re not alone. You’re not behind. You’re becoming.

🧘‍♂️ Yoga is more than a practice—it’s a path back to yourself.

For those facing cancer, every breath matters. Every stretch, every pause, every moment of stillness becomes a quiet form of resilience.

Yoga doesn’t replace treatment—but it restores balance where the body and mind feel broken.
It calms the racing thoughts before scans.
It eases the fatigue that lingers long after chemo.
It teaches the body to trust itself again.

This International Yoga Day, I invite every survivor and patient to explore yoga—not as an exercise, but as an act of self-healing.

Because healing isn’t only physical.
Sometimes, it starts with a breath.

💬 What most people see: “You’re done with treatment—congratulations!”
But what they don’t always see… is the iceberg below.

Cancer survivorship is a journey that extends far beyond the final chemotherapy session or discharge note.

🎗️ Survivors often deal with:

Fear of recurrence

Brain fog

Fatigue and anxiety

Changes in appearance, taste, appetite, and identity

As an oncologist, I’ve seen the unspoken layers of healing that come after treatment ends.
It’s not just about remission—it's about recovery.

This post was created to amplify what survivors feel but rarely say.

Let’s help make survivorship visible.
Let’s listen better, support deeper, and walk with our patients—long after the treatment ends.

🎗️ Surviving cancer doesn’t mean the journey is over.
It means the fight has changed.

As an oncologist, I’ve seen that what comes after treatment is often misunderstood. Survivors face invisible struggles—physical, emotional, and social—that many don’t see.

This post shares what many cancer survivors wish the world understood:
💬 That healing continues long after the hospital.
💬 That support is still needed, even when they look “okay.”
💬 That fear, change, and small victories are very real.

To every survivor reading this—you’re seen, you’re strong, and your story matters.
To everyone else—share this to show your support. Because cancer may leave the body, but its echoes stay with the soul.

🌿 June is a Month of Strength. Of Survival. Of Awareness.

This month, we honor those who’ve walked through cancer—and those still walking, with courage and hope.

🎗️ Cancer Survivors Month reminds us that surviving isn’t the end of the story—it’s the start of a powerful new chapter.
🍑 Uterine Cancer Awareness Month urges us to educate, screen early, and listen to our bodies.

As an oncologist, I’ve seen how early awareness can save lives—and how survivor stories fuel hope for millions.

This June, let’s stand together in awareness, compassion, and advocacy.
You are seen. You are strong. You are never alone.

“Every puff is a step closer to risk. Every choice is a chance to change.”

As an oncologist, I see the long-term impact of to***co use every day. From lung cancer to oral cancers, the toll it takes on patients and families is heartbreaking—and preventable.

🚭 To***co use remains one of the leading causes of preventable cancer deaths worldwide.

Whether it's ci******es, sh**ha, or smokeless to***co—there is no safe level of consumption.

This World No To***co Day, I urge you:
✅ Take the step to quit
✅ Support someone who is trying
✅ Talk to your doctor about screening if you have a history of use

Your lungs. Your life. Your future.
