Part TWO of why you don't seem to lose weight.

Not being patient means expecting to see the number on the scale dropping or feeling not satisfied enough with what you achieved. Weight Loss in a journey and lifestyle changes.. And we dietitians are not magicians that would make you lose weight within few months. Respect your body and enjoy the process.
Finally, my recommendation is to change your mind set and have a reason for going into this journey that would last.

I hear people complaining that they are not losing weight although they are sticking to the plan. 98% of the time people are either not actually in deficit or they are not patient enough.
Not to forget that there are countless factors at play, including genetics, hormonal imbalances, stress, and a lack of sleep. Remember to be kind to yourself and focus on making sustainable lifestyle changes rather than quick fixes.

Adopting a consistent exercise routine and making healthier food choices are key components to a successful weight loss strategy. It's not about quick fixes or fad diets, it's about making sustainable lifestyle changes that will lead to lasting results.

2021 is almost over… So it’s time for end of the year cleanse!!
Not another diet cleanse, or detox plan… You have to cleanse your environment.

Don’t be afraid to get rid of the people that bother you… Don’t be afraid to speak the truth of how you feel… We live once so why bother ourselves with other peoples bad energy and opinion.

This was my mantra for 2021… and again for 2022 I’m ready to dig deeper in what isn’t serving me.

Spending your life trying to prove yourself to others is a waste of time and energy…
To some this becomes obsessive!!

Most people are too consumed by their own problems to think too much about YOUR successes… Chances are that someone you’re trying to impress isn’t thinking as much about you.

Realize that proving yourself & being successful at it won’t bring you gratification and start to gradually recognize that the only person’s validation you need is Yours!!

The most heard terms nowadays are Insulin and glucose.
This popularity comes from the myth circulating that insulin causes weight gain!
NOT TRUE!!!

Insulin is a peptide hormone that is secreted by the pancreas by special cells called beta cells.

The main role of insulin is to lower blood sugar by increasing glucose uptake into different tissues such as liver, adipose tissue and muscles.

This glucose is either used as energy, stored as glycogen, or fat storage.

However, as mentioned in the post there are other functions for insulin like:

✅ It promotes protein synthesis: insulin is anabolic hormone. Insulin signal muscle tissue that activates mTOR “master regulator of protein synthesis”. This is the same pathway that is stimulated by leucine to increase protein synthesis.

✅It stimulates the release of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is a potent vasodilator (relaxes blood vessels) thus increase blood flow & nutrients delivery to tissues.

Your body uses the food you eat as energy and when you don’t eat it runs on its own stores for energy. (Simple math)🧮

Because of this people assume if they train fasted they burn more fat.
What actually happens is short term fat oxidation (Burning) which doesn’t mean FAT LOSS. It’s the long term balance over the day or week that dictates your weight gain or lose. This “fat balance” is dictated by the Total calorie intake.

My suggestion to you, if you feel fine training while fasting or your schedule only permits training early (Like me) the train fasted. And as long as you are having adequate protein around the workout period and by the end of the day you don’t have to worry about losing muscle mass.

🍗Try getting around 20-30g of protein within an hour of finishing the workout.
