At Plaay, we use a blend of coconut sugar + dates. Why? Because they bring different things to the table. Coconut sugar is light and caramely, dates are deeper and jammy — together they make the chocolate taste just right. And all of this without messing with your blood sugar.

It’s not about which one is “better.” At the tiny portion we use, their glycemic load is pretty much the same. We just didn’t go all-dates because it can take over the flavour.

Even with clean sugars, we keep the dose small on purpose: under 5g natural sugar per truffle. No sugar alcohols. No fiber syrups. No fake “clean” claims. Just ingredients you know, in numbers we’re upfront about.

Not a brand pitch.
Just a story that started with frustration, late-night cravings, and a refusal to eat junk disguised as “healthy.”

When I started Plaay, it wasn’t about launching another chocolate brand.
It was about fixing a problem I couldn’t ignore.

As a nutritionist, I genuinely felt there was no chocolate out there I could eat EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Llike literally EVERYDAY, without second-guessing it.

Everything was either loaded with sugar and additives,
or it was what I call “pseudo-clean” - full of artificial sweeteners and fillers, dressed up to look healthy but nowhere close to being 100% clean.

I didn’t want that.
I wanted chocolate made from ingredients I could trust - no refined sugar, no soy lecithin, no fake sweeteners, no hidden stuff that messes with your gut.
Chocolate that tastes like chocolate, not like a compromise.

Plaay was my answer to that craving - chocolate you can have daily, proudly, and without compromise.

Plaay was never about restriction, it’s about choice.
