ECZEMA:-Is this your CHILD:-
Eczema or Atopic Dermatitis is a genetically determined immune disease.
Do you know eczema affects 1 in 5 children and 1 in 10 adults Infants aged 0-24 months Eczema is acute and appears on the face, outer surfaces of arms and legs, and trunk but the nappy area is not affected.
Children aged 2-16 Eczema appears in creases of elbows, knees, and neck -Eczema is thick and lichenified in the creases of limbs, wrists, ankles, and eyelids.
-Also in the upper trunk, shoulders, and scalp. Adults may have only hand eczema .
Normal Skin prevents pe*******on of irritants, allergens, and microorganisms while skin has skin barrier defects Such skin has water loss and oil loss leading to dry and flaky skin. So the allergens and microorganisms can easily enter such skin leading to itching and eczema.
Children with eczema have genes of allergy so they develop asthma or allergic rhinitis or other allergic diseases. Important message for the parents and teachers, ALLERGY AFFECTS THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN AND YOU MUST CONSULT THE ALLERGY SPECIALIST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO PREVENT THE DEVELOPMENT OF SERIOUS ALLERGIC DISEASES IN YOUR CHILDREN.

Pollen is the minute particles produced by male plants. Pollen allergy can be SERIOUS and you can see the POLLEN RAIN in this video. If you go early morning near the paper mulberry plants, you can see actually the pollens coming in form of clouds from the plants. Paper mulberry pollen is in the catkins and each catkin can have up to 2 million pollens each plant has thousands of CATKINS releasing pollens with sunset.
FIRST POLLEN calendar of ISLAMABAD WAS DEVELOPED BY US IN 2007 IN A PROJECT WITH THE COLLABORATION OF THE WORLD ALLERGY ORGANIZATION.
ALLERGY POLLEN CALENDAR:
• Paper Mulberry Pollens from End February to the End of March.
• Cannabis (Bhang) Pollens from July to October Weeds
• (Ragweed) Pollens from July to October.
• Grass Pollens, All year round.
PRECAUTIONS for POLLEN ALLERGY PATIENTS.
• Stay Indoors during the pollen season with windows & doors closed, use air conditioners.
• Take plenty of water.
• Going out from 11 am to 4 pm by wearing face mask since lesser concentration of pollens during this time.
• The Windows of the car should be rolled up.
• Take the medicines prescribed by your doctor strictly as per the doctor's instructions.
• Most important:-Asthma patients must learn the correct use of inhalers and they will be protected.
• Pollen Allergy Asthma patients become serious only due to non-compliance or under dosing( taking inhalers occasionally.
• Simple Ventolin Inhaler may not be effective it should be combined with steroid inhalers as recommended by your doctor.
• So strictly follow your doctor's instructions.
