The world of anaesthesia bids farewell to one of its most influential minds, Dr. Seshagiri Rao Mallampati, MD — a clinician whose contribution reshaped airway evaluation globally.
In an era when airway assessment lacked structured simplicity, Dr. Mallampati introduced a classification system that was both intuitive and transformative. The Mallampati classification became more than a scoring method; it became a universal language spoken in operating rooms, ICUs, and training programs worldwide — strengthening anticipation, preparation, and patient safety.
