Most people don’t realise that toilet posture affects bowel movements.

A simple adjustment can make elimination easier and reduce unnecessary straining.

Here are a few helpful tips:

• Keep your knees slightly higher than your hips
• Use a small stool or blocks under your feet
• Avoid leaning forward excessively
• Stay hydrated throughout the day
• Eat fibre-rich foods
• Move your body regularly
• Avoid scrolling on your phone while sitting on the toilet

Your body is naturally designed for a squat-like position. Sometimes small changes make the biggest difference.

Pregnancy fitness is often reduced to one word — Kegels.
