What’s the best diet for fat loss and it’s not just about the best one you can stick to!

Yes it’s true you do have to have a lot of structure when you want to drop weight or decrease body fat.

But most gen pop clients need balance and need to have a day or two where they can enjoy a meal they miss or attend a social event without feeling guilty about it.

It is possible to do this but it still requires discipline.

You can have some of what you want but you can’t have it all if your goal is to get lean. It’s just the way it is.

The best diet is the one you can stick to, however you are going to have to make some sacrifices when it comes to your eating habits.

You won’t always be able to just eat what you want. Not until your body reaches a point where is can better handle and process “unclean foods” when you choose to have them.

How do we get to that point where we are more conditioned for a more balanced dietary lifestyle?

You have to go through phases and cycles of building muscle!

Meet busy MD Marwan!

He was always a very active person growing up and well into his adult life he lifted weights at the gym with a friend.

Fast forward a couple years later and Marwan stopped his activities and began eating far too much which caused him to gain a bunch of weight.

He struggled with his eating habits and found it difficult to control his cravings.

He lacked the motivation to get back to being active and going to the gym again.

He also struggled to find the time in his busy work life to get to the gym because his work was stressing him out.

ACTION:
Marwan decided it was time to make a change for the sake of his general health as he had been diagnosed with high cholesterol. He also just wanted to feel better about himself too and so he realized the need to make his health a priority.

We began our year long journey at a starting weight of 105kg and trained 3-4 times per week consistently.

Marwan stuck to a structured meal plan that was suitable for his lifestyle and he still enjoyed business lunches and nights out with friends and family.

Consistent weight training coupled with cardio and a flexible approach to diet, we reached his goal weight of 85kg!

Marwan was patient and didn’t put any pressure on himself to achieve the goal in an unrealistic timeframe. We decided to achieve the goal slow and steady in a relaxed manor where it felt manageable and rewarding as time went on.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GUESS YOUR WAY THROUGH YOUR TRAINING SESSIONS?

No plan = no progress

There are many plus sides to having a coach guide you through your workouts.

One of the biggest things is learning to train by yourself while staying injury free.

Making progress is possible but in order to do this, a clear plan of action and adherence is needed.

Guessing and fumbling around on the gym floor will only become frustrating and demotivating.

What you need to achieve weight loss successfully

✅A relentless attitude to succeed
✅A crystal clear reason why you want this
✅A balanced and realistic approach to food
✅A structured training program
✅Accountability & guidance

Too often people sign onto training not realizing what it is actually going to take to achieve their goal.

This is not a short term thing if you’re gonna do it right.

When you make the decision to hire a coach you are investing a lot of money, and so your efforts in and out of the gym need to coincide with that financial decision.

Why half ass it?

Understand that it’s going to take a willingness to change some bad habits you have had for quite some time hence you’re at the point where you’re frustrated with how you look and/or feel right now.

What holds you back from achieving your best body yet and why don’t you see your health as the biggest priority in your life?

When you don’t take ownership of making decisions, addressing issues and solving problems, things don’t get done.

Accountability is taking responsibility for your own actions. It’s about taking initiative and recognizing not only that you have the power to cause problems for yourself, but also to fix them!

When you are held accountable, you take responsibility for your own results.

When you lack accountability, one shortfall snowballs into bigger shortfalls.

You set yourself up for failure and disappointment. You become just the norm, and you’re right back to where you started.

Regular exercise has many psychological and emotional benefits too.

Meeting exercise goals or challenges, even small ones, can boost your self-confidence. Getting in shape can also make you feel better about your appearance.

Exercise and physical activity may give you the chance to meet or socialize with others.

I am a big believer in starting your journey off with learning to track your calories and here’s why..

Using this tool is great for a fat loss phase. It helps you understand how many calories you’re actually consuming daily(once you get the hang of it), and it makes you aware of the calories in the foods you’re choosing to eat.
Most people that come to me have no clue about how many calories they’ve been consuming and when they learn this they are usually quite shocked.

On the flip side they learn how flexible they can be if they just practice a little control and mindfulness about their choices day to day.

The result?
They lose weight, but more importantly, they realize that they’ve been able to eat healthier and include some of their favourite foods/drinks and sweets without feeling guilty or restricted whatsoever!

It’s not just about losing the weight or building the dream physique. It’s about creating healthy habits and good relationships with food. The dream body is a bi product of this and the big reward for staying on track and seeing the process through.

BUT the process needs more. It needs a road map, accountability and support.

DO YOU CONSIDER THESE POINTS WHEN YOU SET YOUR EXPECTATIONS :

How often you train determines the speed at which you achieve changes.

How hard you work in the gym matters - You need to go in with a plan and execute with intention. Do you?

What you eat on a daily basis matters - Are you mindful when you choose your meals? It is a waste of time to train so hard and so well yet have such poor food choices. You will not get very far if you do not educate yourself on tracking your calories and macros. You need to understand what is in a food!

In a sea of exercises and other useless content, are you choosing effective exercises to work on?

Practicing discipline and choosing to remember what you want to get out of training is so important to stay on track.
