💛 Little Milo’s Eye Adventure 💛🐹

Say hello to Milo – our tiny patient with a big problem! This sweet little guy came in recently because he could barely open one of his eyes. His owner knew something wasn’t right, so Milo booked in to see Dr. Leanne.

After a gentle but thorough eye exam, Dr. Leanne discovered two things:
👁️ A painful corneal ulcer
🌾 And unbelievably… a grass seed lodged

It’s not something we see often in guinea pigs, and no wonder he was so uncomfortable. Poor Milo had to have the area around his eye carefully clipped and cleaned so we could get a clear view and remove the grass seed safely.

He’s now on pain relief and eye drops, and we’re happy to report that his ulcer is healing beautifully. 💛🐹

Milo was such a brave little patient, and we’re so glad he’s feeling much better & just in time for christmas ❤️
If you ever notice your pet squinting, rubbing at their eye, or keeping it closed, don’t wait – eye problems can become serious very quickly, no matter how small the patient!

Healing vibes to Milo & make sure you follow him on instagram ✨👁️🐾

💙🐾 Meet Gizmo – Foreign Body Surgery 🐾💙

This little sweetheart, Gizmo, recently needed urgent care after he stopped eating, hadn’t passed stool for 24 hours, and became very lethargic. A few days earlier he had vomited a piece of plastic, which made his owners understandably very worried.

X-rays taken at another clinic showed five foreign bodies — four in his stomach and one in his intestine.
(You can see these clearly in the X-ray photos included in this post.)

Gizmo was admitted for pre-operative blood tests and then underwent an exploratory laparotomy, where all the pieces of plastic were successfully removed.
(We’ve also included a photo of the little cup showing the foreign material taken out.)

He recovered well from anaesthesia, stayed with us for a few days for monitoring, and we’re delighted to report that he’s back to his bright, happy self again. 💛🐶

If your pet suddenly stops eating, becomes lethargic, or you suspect they’ve swallowed something unusual, please seek veterinary help as soon as possible.
