What is yoga?
✻ The main aim of all yogic practices we do such as asanas, pranayama and meditation is union. Hatha meaning ‘ha’ the sun, and ‘tha’ the moon. We spend most of our lives in an unbalanced state, and the time has come to bring harmony into our lives, as individuals and within society. All the yogic practices are designed to attain perfect peace and health, to balance the polarities in our entire existence, the lunar and solar, masculine and feminine, intellect and intuition, shiva and shakti, hot and cold, active and passive, yang and yin, light and darkness, bringing balance to the left and the right hemisphere of the brain, and so on. We balance the body and the mind, so that our spirit / soul can arise to the forefront and we can see the inner light of knowledge and truth, gain profound wisdom and awaken to our highest self. Yoga is about awakening, becoming a new category of being, an enlightened soul. The ancient yogis knew this many thousand years ago and these sacred practices was developed.
