Here’s an important reminder when assessing a casualty in an emergency:

Ensuring that a casualty is BREATHING is priority when checking for injuries.

If a casualty is breathing, you can assess if they are BLEEDING. How bad is it? If it’s excessive this takes priority over the next two.

Do they have any BURNS or fractured BONES?

Please remember that if you are not a trained professional, do not attempt to move the casualty. Calling for an ambulance and containing the scene until help arrives is also first aid!
