What is DHARANA?
Dharana is a steppingstone in the journey to attain stillness. The stillness which leads to ekagrata
(single mindedness), and which in turn leads to spontaneous Dhyana (the meditation).

'Tratakam', is an ancient hatha yogic practice which also helps to bring the mind into one-pointedness. It's a part of the shodhana kriya - cleansing methods, as mentioned in the classical hatha yogic texts- Hatha Pradipika and Gheranda Samhita.

The 300hour YTT students of Hatha Vidya Yoga Centre, recently had a wonderful opportunity of learning the entire shodhana kriya process, under the expert guidance of Acharya Bala.
