Job Title: Scientific Officer

Position Overview:
The Scientific Officer is responsible for supporting and managing scientific, research, and technical activities within the organization. This role involves designing experiments, conducting research, analyzing data, ensuring compliance with scientific and regulatory standards, and contributing to the development of projects, policies, and publications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research & Development
• Design, plan, and conduct laboratory experiments and field studies.
• Develop and validate scientific methods, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare technical reports, publications, and presentations based on research findings.
• Laboratory & Technical Management
• Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Supervise sample collection, testing, and analysis in line with scientific standards.
• Implement quality assurance and quality control measures.
• Data Analysis & Reporting
• Collect, analyze, and interpret scientific data.
• Provide evidence-based recommendations to management and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of research activities and findings.
• Compliance & Safety
• Ensure laboratory and research activities comply with safety, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote good laboratory practices (GLP) and biosafety standards.
• Monitor compliance with national and international scientific guidelines.
• Collaboration & Training
• Work with multidisciplinary teams, including researchers, clinicians, and technical staff.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior staff and students.
• Represent the organization at scientific meetings, seminars, and conferences.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Master, BMLTS in a relevant scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Public Health, or related discipline).
• Strong background in laboratory techniques, scientific research, and data analysis.
• Experience with research design, statistical tools, and scientific writing.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on research projects.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and regulatory frameworks.
Years Of Experience
• 5 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years in the same position or in a higher-level role.
Working Conditions:
• Laboratory, office, or field-based depending on project requirements.
• May involve extended working hours, travel, or fieldwork for research studies.
