Did you know that air takes up space?

Our Grade 3 students learned this in a fun experiment while learning about the Earth's resources. The sub-topic was air and we proved that air does take up space!

Despite being invisible, air has mass and volume, which means it takes up space. Air is all around us and can push on things, like when you feel the wind or when you blow up a balloon.

Journaling is one of the five disciplines covered in our Social, Personal and Health Education program here at Mill Academy.

Journaling is important for primary school students for a myriad of reasons. It promotes emotional well-being by offering a safe space for students to express feelings and manage stress, while also enhancing academic skills like writing, reading, and critical thinking. By using words, pictures, or both, students can creatively problem-solve and think imaginatively. At Mill Academy, we understand the importance of teaching our students different languages from an early age. That's why our Language subject includes 4 languages, our native English, Mandarin, Spanish and French. This week in Social Studies, the students were taught about "The Role Of The Family", which gave them a glimpse into family roles and responsibilities. Today, they learned how children can support their parents at home, by preparing simple meals under supervision. As part of this lesson, the children prepared Grilled Cheese Sandwiches for their snack. What a wonderful, practical way to help them develop important life skills and foster a sense of accomplishment and teamwork!

It was such a joy to watch them enjoying the fruits of their labour!
