We are proud to announce that Artur Torosyan, Founder of the Armenian Association of Geriatrics and Gerontology and President of the Association of Healthcare and Assistance to Older People, has successfully completed the “ Medicine and ” 2024–2025 international training program, organized by the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG), the Federation of Geriatric Education (FGE), and the Swiss Foundation for Medical e-Education (SFME).
His tuition fee was partially covered by the Federation of Geriatric Education, while the remaining part was funded personally.
🔰 The program included 32 distinguished experts from the world’s leading universities, representing fields such as geriatric medicine, social gerontology, geriatric psychiatry, and related medical sciences. Among them were:
- Prof. Mario Barbagallo, President of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG)
- Prof. Rosette Bonello, Deputy Director, United Nations International Institute on Ageing (Malta)
- Dr. Mohamed Shawky Khater, Professor of Geriatric Medicine, Ain Shams University (Cairo)
- Prof. Joël Belmin, Professor of Geriatrics, Sorbonne University (Paris)
- Prof. Jean-Pierre Michel, Geriatrician and Head of the Federation of Geriatric Education
- Dr. Abdulrazaq Abyad, Geriatrician, Dar Al Shifa Hospital (Kuwait),
and many other internationally recognized specialists.
🤝 Since 2016, Artur Torosyan’s efforts have been dedicated to improving the quality of life of older people in Armenia through systemic reforms and the development of geriatrics and gerontology. Over the years, the establishment of an international network of partners and access to high-quality education have created a strong foundation for building a modern, knowledge-based system in the country.
This achievement reflects his commitment to the Association’s mission—to train a new generation of professionals equipped with specialized skills and to advance geriatrics and gerontology, thereby improving the quality of life of older people in Armenia.
