✨ New IDS Study Published! ✨

Merkel cell carcinoma is a rare but aggressive tumor that can closely mimic other benign and malignant skin lesions.

🔍 In this International Dermoscopy Society (multicenter study, we analyzed dermoscopic features of 134 MCCs compared with 268 clinically similar tumors.
📌Key findings:
• Pink color and surface scale emerged as positive predictors of MCC
• Ulceration, brown pigmentation, and blue-gray color were negative predictors
• MCC should be strongly considered in non-pigmented pink tumors with scale

This study highlights the value of dermoscopy in improving early recognition of MCC.
Now published — congratulations to all IDS contributors!

New IDS Webcast
Dermoscopy: Case-Based Learning
“Scalp Melanoma: The Invisible Killer” – Dr. V. Todorovska

Scalp melanomas are among the most frequently overlooked skin cancers — hidden by hair and often diagnosed late.

In this new webcast, Dr. Todorovska highlights why careful examination of the scalp must be a routine part of every skin check.
Key points:
• Why scalp melanomas tend to be diagnosed at later stages
• Dermoscopic clues and common melanoma subtypes on the scalp (which vary by age)
• Why scalp melanomas behave more aggressively
• The higher risk of recurrence and the clinical implications
• Practical tips to avoid missing these “invisible” lesions

🚨 BREAKING NEWS! Professor Giuseppe Argenziano is missing! 🚨
He hasn’t been seen for several days, and authorities have now officially declared him missing.
His last words to his team were: “Guys, I’m going to a Congress…”
A clue that, unfortunately, hasn’t helped investigators very much 🤣
The last person to see him?
👉 Professor Elvira Moscarella.
Rumor has it that she took him with her for reasons… still undisclosed.
Perhaps a discovery ready to overturn everything.
Perhaps a new way of seeing what remains invisible even under the Confocal.
Perhaps something no one is ready to understand.
Hypotheses multiply.
Questions grow.
Answers will come in only one place:
