European Large Vessel Vasculitis Imaging Course You can still register and the registration fee also includes the accommodation costs.

The European Large Vessel Vasculitis Imaging Course is a life event in Innsbruck that places great emphasis on the safety of all participants, especially due to the current Covid situation. The objective of this course is to improve the competency of rheumatologists and other professionals across the world to use imaging techniques like ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),
18F-FDG positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) to
assess patients with (suspected) LVV . In addition, skills to read histopathology of
temporal arteries should be improved. This course is targeted at all professionals
investigating and /or managing patients with LVV. Apart from theoretical lectures, the course will contain live demonstrations and
practical workshops. In practical ultrasound workshops, healthy individuals and
LVV patients will be examined under supervision of tutors; in practical workshops
on MRI, PET and CT, participants will work under supervision to analyse images. Histopathology will be taught in a theoretical and practical session. Main topics:

- Day 1: Imaging in the diagnosis and monitoring of LVV
- Day 2: Ultrasound in LVV (Lecture, Live demonstration and workshop)
PET in LVV (Lecture and Workshop)
MRI in LVV (Lecture and Workshop)
- Day 3: Histopathology in GCA (Lecture and Workshop)
CT in LVV (Lecture and Workshop)

Let us introduce the scientific organizers behind the event.

Dr.med.univ. Christian is the Director of the Department of Rheumatology of the South Tyrol Health Trust, and an Associate Professor of the Medical University of Graz.
He has been working in the field of imaging in GCA for more than 10 years, has organized and participated as a speaker and tutor in several national and international imaging courses.
He has been the first author of the EULAR imaging recommendations for LVV, and has been leading several international research projects including EULAR and OMERACT projects in the field of imaging and LVV. He will welcome you to the EULVIC with a short speech and will then continue with a lecture about Giant cell arteritis and the need for early diagnosis and therapy.

PD Dr. Christina Duftner works as Consultant in Rheumatology at the Medical University Innsbruck/Tirol Kliniken GmbH. She has been involved in EULAR and OMERACT research projects in the field of imaging and LVV with special focus on the development of definitions for large vessel vasculitis key elementary lesions. At the EULVIC she will introduce you to the correct ajustation of your ultrasound equipment in order to perform a vascular ultrasonographic examination.

The event is coming nearer.
The gives deep insights into large vessel vasculitis (LVV). The conventional method of using angiography to diagnose Takayasu arteritis (TA) has been replaced. EULAR recommends the use of imaging in LVV. This is a first-line test in diagnosing LVV. Those imaging modalities include the ultrasound, MRI, PET and CT.
