VieSID - Vienna School of Interdisciplinary Dentistry and VieSID Azerbaijan are honored for this opportunity and thank the Medical University of Azerbaijan for allowing us to share the knowledge in occlusion medicine that we have to offer. We also appreciate the participation of all doctors and dental technicians who demonstrated great motivation and contributed to a lively discussion. Events such as this “functional diagnostic workshop” reflect our shared interest in constantly improving education in dentistry.

“Sometimes, the presentation of the lower teeth does not allow for a stable and contact-free attachment of the clutch, compromising the outcomes of the condylographic examination. Here https://www.thejpd.org/article/S0022-3913(25)00608-0/fulltext , you can find the instructions for manufacturing an individualized paraocclusal clutch fixator, consisting of an occlusally open thermoplastic mask for the patient’s mandibular teeth onto which the clutch can be bonded. This simple and effective tool can be used in case of a deep bite, exostosis, or missing teeth. It can also save you from tedious cleaning if brackets are present. Don´t forget to watch the supplementary video. Curious fact: Already in the 1980s, Prof. Rudolf Slavicek applied this solution, but used acrylic resin, which was available at that time.” .liana.stripskaya

For the new beginning VieSID Orthodontic Continuum with Dr. Miguel Assis, which will start on October 28th , 2025 we still have some free seats.

The VieSID Orthodontic Continuum is designed to teach diagnostic and therapeutic methods based on Prof. Sadao Sato’s concept of orthognathic medicine. This approach views orthodontics as a comprehensive medical discipline, emphasizing the stomatognathic system as a whole—including occlusion, jaw relationships, masticatory muscles, temporomandibular joints, and related soft tissue and neuromuscular structures.

Additionally, the course examines how dysfunctions within the stomatognathic system can impact the body as a whole, highlighting the importance of a holistic, medically informed approach to orthodontic care.

For the new beginning VieSID Basic Curriculum, which will start on October 23rd , 2025 we still have some free seats.
The Basic Curriculum is a postgraduate education course for general dentists, orthodontists, prosthodontists and dental technicians, who are interested in receiving a profound education in the aspects of function and dysfunction of the craniofacial system.
The content is based on the theses of Prof. Dr. Rudolf Slavicek and the Vienna School of Interdisciplinary Dentistry. This compact, but nevertheless comprehensive and intensive course offers theoretical lessons in balance with practical exercises and homework. The participants implement the gained knowledge directly into their daily work.

About VieSID

VieSID is a foundation that is not profit oriented to promote occlusal dentistry.

VieSID, short for Vienna School of Interdisciplinary Dentistry, was originally founded to develop the postgraduate education program for dentists and dental technicians initiated by Prof. Rudolf Slavicek at Danube University Krems.

The idea of VieSID is to preserve and edit Prof. Slavicek’s lifework and concepts that are consistent like Prof. Sato’s and to develop and provide them globally. VieSID is working together with independent renowned international experts and lecturers and is taking care of the content as well as the organization of the curricula. At present, VieSID courses are held worldwide. From South America to Russia and China, the teaching of Prof. Rudolf Slavicek spreads.

VieSID courses turn the concept of lifelong learning into reality. The hands-on education allows to integrate innovative processes directly into the daily work routine. All VieSID courses combine theory and practical application and offer enough time for both.
