When it comes to hormone balance, simple lifestyle shifts are often the key to feeling our best- and simple shifts are actually more lasting than all those New Year's Resolutions!
Here are 6 simple but mighty practices that go a LONG way toward greater hormone health, less inflammation, and also greater mind and mood ease.
In 2023 embrace hormone health by:
🥑Making blood sugar balance a lifestyle- Focus on whole foods, healthy fats, lots of fiber + protein, moving after meals, and more. Our hormones thrive off of balanced blood sugar as do our moods & sleep. Listen to my podcast episode with the for simple and sustainable habits!
🥦Eating more plants- not only are plant foods rich in hormone-healthy nutrients but they are also full of fiber that supports a healthy gut and estrogen levels. The more diversity of plants we eat in our diet, the healthier our guts!
🍷Minimizing the alcohol- alcohol acts as an endocrine disruptor and can even throw off our hormone balance. Try trading out for a relaxing tea, sparkling water, ACV in water, or for special occasions, a mocktail!
🏃🏻♀️Moving your body for 30 minutes a day- Daily movement such as walking or dancing is not only powerful for our moods and mind but also keeps our digestion healthier- helpful for hormones, blood sugar balance, and reducing inflammation.
💤Practicing better sleep- limiting screen time before bed can really help your body ease into a restful sleep. Good sleep is one of the most important habits for balanced hormones and overall health.
🧘♀️Pausing more- stress is a major cause of hormone imbalance. Take time regularly to slow down & connect with your breath. Not only does this practice reduce stress, but it helps us get out of survival mode.
