🎉 We are pleased to recognise ULS São João in Porto, Portugal, as an IASIOS Enrolled Centre!

By joining the IASIOS community, São João University Hospital demonstrates a clear commitment to transparency, standardised processes, and high-quality patient care. Establishing robust quality frameworks and alignment with internationally recognised benchmarks is an essential step in ensuring that patients receive consistent, safe, and effective treatment across the entire care pathway.

🏆 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱! Following its successful launch last year, this initiative once again offers hospitals across Europe the opportunity to take their first step towards IASIOS accreditation.

Supported by Boston Scientific*, the grant will 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀, helping them reach global standards in interventional oncology practice.

🌟 In this , we proudly feature Prof. Tiago Bilhim, Director of the Interventional Radiology Units at Hospital Curry Cabral, Unidade Local de Saúde de São José, an IASIOS Accredited Centre, and SAMS Hospital in Lisbon.

A Fellow of CIRSE and SIR, Prof. Bilhim has been instrumental in advancing interventional oncology in Portugal through innovation, education, and standardization. His expertise includes prostatic and uterine artery embolization, hepatobiliary and oncologic interventions, and diabetic foot revascularization, all contributing to safer and more effective cancer care.
In the interview, he reflects on the mentors who shaped his path, the value of IASIOS accreditation in uniting Portuguese IR units, and his vision for the future of interventional oncology.
